A still air surrounded the three beings as they started at one another. The orange haired boy tightened the grip he had on his sword as he tried to protect the girl who was cowering behind him
"This is bad... Is the boss really going to have us killed?!"
Their boss had shown up out of nowhere during the battle that had occurred at the city of Rockway and told the boy that he was disappointed at the lack of progress he had made completing his mission. The boy knew that it was very common for "failures" within the organization to be killed as punishment.
"I can't let him kill either of us! Not here!" the boy's mind raced.
Finally, after many short moments of feeling the stillness that surrounded them, the boss spoke to his two underlings. "We will attack the village in a few short days. If you can bring me Emerald Vincent's head, then I will overlook your past defeats." With that being said he disappeared into the fog around them."
When everything had finally cleared out some time later, the boy picked up the girl behind him and put her on his back. "We should start to prepare for the battle I suppose. It may be for the best if you remain as a sword for now."
The girl nodded. "As you wish." She quickly molded herself back into her weapon form and then fell into the boy's hands. He sighed looking at the events that were starting to transpire.
"Emerald... Leopold... I truly am sorry..."

Leopold and his friends walked through the forests as they headed for the village. After a few long days in Vinhold's castle, they were all ready for some much deserved rest!
"It's a shame we couldn't find Singe or Lucy in Rockway..." Leopold said to the others. "Do you think that perhaps they headed back to the village already? I would hate to have left them behind somewhere..."
"I'm sure that it will be fine." Emerald assured her friend. "If we can't find him inside of the village, then we can send out some people to look for him tomorrow morning." She smiled.
"If you say so..."
Leopold looked forward as he could finally see what looked like a bright light getting closer and closer as the group progressed forward. "That has to be the village... I am SO ready to get some shut eye!" However, there was something Leopold found strange about this light he saw...
"And why is it that I smell smoke?!"
"It's a fire! There's a fire in the village!" Leviathan exclaimed, rushing ahead of the rest of the group. The rest followed the boy as they tried to see what was happening.
"It is a fire!" Emerald breathed, anxiously. "And who are the people down there?!"
"Bandits... They're bandits!" Leviathan said to the others. He pulled out a knife that he had and rushed down to the grounds to attack the bandits by himself.
"Crap! He's way in over his head!" Leopold thought to himself. He turned to Diablo and narrowed his eyes.
"Diablo, can you turn into your sword form?"
The boy nodded. "Of course, sir." He did as he was asked as his physical form transformed into that of the weaponry object Leopold was desiring. Leopold took the sword into his arms and took one more deep breath.
"Alright..." Leopold quickly followed his friend down to the fighting as he could now see dozens more of the enemy all across the grounds. When they spotted the two coming, their foes took their blades and attacked.
