He walked back to his leader, beaten and bruised. Just who was that guy who had beaten him? He was one of the strongest members of his group... He hardly ever lost to anyone! So then just who had managed such a feat?
"I should have been more careful..." he thought in annoyance at the situation. "I don't know just how he was concealing it, but when that attack came I could feel an enormous amount of magic coming from him..." The man narrowed his eyes as he leaned against a nearby tree to rest for a moment. "And the way that he looked... Was he a demon? There's no way... I know that sometimes a few strong members the Demon race break out of the underworld and up to the surface, but it isn't often..."
"Damn it..." he whispered under his breath. "I wonder what the boss will do to me now..."
And to make matters worse for him, he had left his sword behind with the powerful guy he had fought. That sword was a priceless artifact! He was surely going to get killed this time...
"Maybe I should go back to the boss..." he thought. Even if he was found later, at least he would have a little time to think things though. "Problem is that I'm wanted dead in multiple different towns and cites... Maybe there is a nearby village I can go too." He was so dizzy... Would he even be able to make it anywhere in his condition? "It's as if that attack constantly drains my magic energy... It just looked like fire, but it most definitely was not..."
"I just want... to rest..."
And then he fell into darkness...
*************************
"Do you think that he will be alright, Miss?"
"I have high-grade healing magic, so he will be fine. And I told you to stop calling me Miss!"
"I work for you now, so it is my duty to call you by a formal name."
"Well as your new master I say stop!"
His eyes slowly opened as the sounds of other voices caught his ears. A bright light shone into his pupils as he reawakened to the world of Vera. What was going on? Where was he? Last he remembered, he was trotting through the forest after being defeated by that monster of a man...
"Leviathan! He's awake!" a female voice exclaimed. The man looked over to his left and saw an emerald-green haired girl looking back at him. She was truly beautiful and had an almost noble charm about him...
The other one who was standing on his right was a male with a more serious look on his face. He had dark blue hair and eyes, as well as a very fine uniform on his body. He looked at the man with curiosity in his eyes.
"They're nobles!" he realized. "I'm so doomed... I'm to weak to fight right now, so I can't escape..." How did he manage to end up in this predicament? The day just kept getting worse and worse...
"You seem nervous..." the female observed. "Is something the matter?"
"He's probably just nervous in seeing new people..." the male observed. "We should just give him time, Miss."
"Good idea. And stop calling me that!"
The orange haired man looked at the people in confusion. "Um... Who exactly are you people? And where are we anyway?" Maybe he could get some answers while passing the time.
The girl smiled. "My name is Emerald Vincent and I am the oldest daughter of the Vincent Household." She slightly bowed her head. "It's a pleasure to meet you."
"And my name is Leviathan Dragoness." the male greeted. "I am Mrs. Emerald's attendant as well as a noble of the Dragoness Household of the Dragonmen civilization."
"A Dragonmen?! So he must be one of those representatives sent to make peace with the surface species... Strange group." He narrowed his eyes and frowned.
"So... are you two dating then?"
Emerald blushed at the man's words, shaking her hands violently as to signal no. "N-Never! Why does eveyone think that!? We're just friends!"
The man shrugged. "If you say so..." He ran his right hand through his hair and smiled. "My name is Singe. It's nice to make your acquaintance."
The girl nodded once more as she looked Singe in the eyes. "Well now that we've made our introductions, how about we- WOAH!" A rocking beneath the groups feet cut Emerald's sentence short as a presence overwhelmed them.
Leviathan quickly got to his feet as he looked at Emerald with a look of worry. "Someone is heading toward the village... And they're powerful..."
"It's him..." Singe breathed.
"Who?" Emerald asked.
"T-The guy... Thats the guy who attacked me!"
