Leopold and Diablo rushed towards the center of the village as they prepared for the battle ahead. They had "asked" for some of the bandit scouts to tell them of the bandit's boss and where he could be found.
"And with Leviathan keeping Singe busy, we shouldn't have any other problems." the boy observed as he ran.
Leviathan had been sent by Leopold to keep Singe occupied so that he would not be able to interfere with the fight between the bandit leader and the two boys who were pursuing him.
It had all happened like this...
A little while before the present...
"You really want me to be the one to fight Singe?!" Leviathan questioned as he heard Leopold's plan. "But why? Shouldn't that part be your job..."
The blond haired boy shook his head and then smiled. "Me and Diablo are going to fight against the leader of these scum." He put a hand on Leviathan's right shoulder. "You need to keep him busy so he doesn't interfere."
"But why me? Is there a reason?"
Putting his hand up to his chin, Leopold thought about it for a moment. "Well... I have observed you and Emerald for some time now and come to see that you two are fairy close with one another."
"Is this another one of your jokes?!"
"No! Just... hear me out for a moment." Leopold took a deep breath and then looked Leviathan in the eyes. "What I'm trying to say is that you should be the one to get revenge for Miss Emerald's sake. I would love to kick that traitor's ass, but you need to be the one who takes care of that and not myself."
Leviathan smiled. "I didn't know you were so considerate..."
"S-Shut up! I'm always considerate!"
Back to the present...
And so, the plan was for Leviathan to stall Singe just long enough for Leopold and his other comrade to take down the leader of the bandit troops.
"It's easier said than done though..." the boy mumbled. He looked over at Diablo and frowned. "Do you think we're close yet?"
The black haired comrade nodded his head to Leopold's question. "Based on my current calculations... it should be just up ahead." He breathed. "I shall wipe them out swiftly, master."
"Please don't get to reckless..."
Leopold sighed and then focused back on the battle ahead. "I wonder just how strong this leader is... He has to be more powerful than Singe, so I'm a little scared." The boy shook himself. "Stop it, Leopold! You can't worry about things like that! You have to win this no matter what!" Finally, a few minutes later, they made it to an especially large tent located in the middle of the village. It wasn't one of the ones that had been here before the first attack, so Leopold guessed that his assumption must have been correct. "Alright... Let's do this!"
"Ready yourself, Diablo." he ordered to his companion.
"Of course, master."
Leopold stopped and looked at the tent. "Alright, bandit leader! Come out now or we will have to drag you out by force." He took his unsheathed sword and put it between the tensor and himself.
Suddenly, a loud noise echoed throughout Leopold's ears. The boy tumbled back in shock, grabbing his ears in pain. "W-What the..." He looked over at Diablo and saw that he also seemed to be off balance. "What's going on here?!"
Leopold continued to clutch his ears as they rang in a shrieking cry of pain. It hurt so bad that he couldn't even move!
"Master, it must be the bandit leader's magic!" Diablo called out to him, almost falling to the ground below his feet.
