The End of the Bug, and the Crying Girl

"I wonder what move that was," James said as he took out his pokédex.

"Flames Charge," it began. "Cloaking itself in flame, the user attacks. Then, building up more power, the user raises its speed."

"Alright!" James said with a determined look on his face. "We can do this, Fennekin. Flame Charge!"

"Use Psychic to deflect it, Vivillon!" Viola instructed quickly.

Vivillon's eyes glowed blue, and the flaming Fennekin was deflected, and veered to the side.

"Again!"

Fennekin once again charges at Vivillon.

"Watch out, Vivillon!"

Vivillon managed to yet again dodge the Flame Charge.

"What is he doing?" Rex asked, slightly frustrated. "He can't just keep doing the same thing over and over."

"His strategy is actually not bad," Timothy answered. "Flame Charge raises the user's speed, so the more he uses it, the faster Fennekin gets, and the more likely it is the hit Vivillon. And as an added bonus he melts the ice with the heat of the attack. But if he keeps on using Flame Charge, all he will accomplish is to tire out Fennekin.

"At least he's using his head," Rex said.

"One more time, Fennekin!"

"Dodge it, Vivillon!" Viola yelled, slightly worried.

This time, with its superior speed, Fennekin managed to hit Vivillon directly, and Vivillon fell to the floor.

"Unbelievable," Timothy said. "He actually tired out Vivillon instead of Fennekin. Well, Fennekin is absolutely tired, this being its second battle and all, but still."

"Let's finish this!" James said. "Quick, use Ember!"

Vivillon didn't get a chance to get up from the floor, and was hit directly yet again.

"Viviii!" it screamed in pain.

"Vivillon!" Viola screamed worriedly. "Are you ok?!"

Vivillon tried to get up, but collapsed. Everyone was slightly shocked, even Timothy, and he is never shocked.

Perhaps this trainer is more capable than I thought, Timothy thought to himself. I'll have to keep my eye on him. Perhaps we will battle in the future. Of course I'll win, but I sure hope he gives me the challenge nobody has been able to give me in a long time.

"Gym Leader Viola is out of usable Pokémon!" the referee exclaimed for all to hear. "The match goes to the challenger, James!"

And then the crowd exploded yet again.

"Yeah!"

"Way to go, James!"

"Woohoo!"

"We love you James!"

"Ha he won!" Rex turned to Timothy, but to his surprise, nobody was there. "Man, that guy is creepy."

"He sure is," Ronnie said.

"Noibat, Noi!" Noibat agreed nodding his head.

"Even Noibat agrees," Cassandra giggled.

"Good job, James," Viola said walking over to him. "Congratulations on winning the Bug badge!"

"Thanks," James said as he took the badge from Viola's hand.

"Well, I gotta go!" Viola said. "Say hi to your friends!"
