The King's Castle

"You guys ready?!" James asked, knocking on the girls' door impatiently.

"Almost!" one of them screamed.

James had gotten up early, and was anxious to get to the circus as soon as possible. He had even managed to get Ronnie to wake up early, which was a pretty extraordinary feat on its own. He had pushed a chair beside Ronnie's bed, climbed on top of it, and jumped onto the sleeping Ronnie. That did the trick.

"Hurry up!"

"You sure love circuses, huh?" Cassandra asked as she opened the door suddenly. This startled James, who then proceeded to fall to the ground, screaming in terror.

"His love for circuses is great enough to do the impossible: waking up Ronnie Harper," said Rex as he tied his shoe laces.

"Something only my mother has ever been able to do," said Ronnie as he walked out of the bathroom. "Today is indeed a day of miracles."

"All I had to do was pull off a WWE move of death on him," said James as he regained his composure and stood up, trying to look as cool as possible given his current predicament. "Also, pretend to forget all about the first 10seconds after you opened that door. Ok? Ok."

"Yeah, sure," Cassandra said laughing slightly, "whatever Floatzels your boat!"

"You guys ready?" asked Cassandra, poking her head into the boys' room.

"Indeed we are!" Rex responded. "Aren't we, gentlemen?"

"YES!" James response excitedly as Ronnie said, "There's nothing gentle about a wild and excited James."

"Onwards we go, then!" Cassandra said turning to leave.

"You heard her, people!" Rex said clapping his hands. "Move out!"

"Why must the world be so cruel?!"

The gang was in the dinning area of the hotel eating breakfast, when the professor called them on Cassandra's Holocaster. James had asked excitedly the exact time the circus opened, and he replied with 12:00pm. When James looked at the clock in the wall, it read 9:31am, and he almost flipped.

"But worry not!" said the professor, acting quickly to make he situation better. "I have a special assignment for you five! The owner of the circus/festival, Nathaniel King, has some pertinent information regarding some very important research I've been conducting. It's about Mega Evolution!"

"What in the world is Mega Evolution?" Rex asked with a slight look of confusion in his face.

"Research has shown," continued the professor excitedly, "that certain Pokémon have the potential to evolve further after their final evolution, but only temporarily. It is possible through the use of special stones that release some kind of powerful energy that allows this evolution to be possible. We don't know much more about it, but word on the street is that Mr. King is able to mega evolve his Pokémon. I need you guys to interview him in regards to this new information."

"Does that mean we get to go early, AND get an exclusive behind the scenes tour of the circus?!" James asked, hardly controlling his excitement.

"Well, yes."

"We are definitely in!" James replied, pumping his fist in the air.

"Well, I guess we'll help you professor," Rex agreed, slightly laughing at his idiot kid brother.

"Great! I'll have a taxi pick you guys up in about 10 minutes. So be sure to finish your breakfast!"

With that, the professor hung up.

"This should be interesting and educational," Rex said, standing to grab another waffle before heading out.

Fifteen minutes later they were all scrambling out of the cramped taxi. Ronnie had been the lucky one to get the front passenger seat, while the other four had to endure been cramped in the back.
