A young Rex played with his best friend, Beverly, a young girl of his age. They had known each other ever since they were born, and have been friends since forever. "Tag! You're it, Beverly!" Rex laughed as he ran away from her.

"No fair, Rex. You know you're faster than me. Slow down!" she screamed at him. Rex kept laughing and running and didn't stop until he reached their favorite tree. He hagan to climb it, and then sat on the branch he and Beverly always sat on.

When she finally got to the tree, she was panting. She was tired from the long run. She then started to climb the tree, and when she was at arms reach from Rex, he offered his hand to help her up.

His mother had taught him to always be a gentleman.

She smiled and took his hand. Then they just sat there in silence, enjoying each other's company. "Rex?" she nervously called her life long friend.

"Yeah?" Rex was moving away to another region, and she was really sad about it.

"Do you promise that we'll be friends forever? Even when you move away?" she said with watery eyes.

"Of course, I'll never forget you."

"Promise?"

"Pinky-promise!" he smiled.

She reached in her pocket and took out two green and blue bracelets. Blue was his favorite color, and green was hers. "I want you to have this one. So that you won't forget me." She handed him one of the bracelets.
"Thanks! I'll always wear it."

He put on the bracelet, and they both walked to his house. Beverly's mother and father were there with Rex's parents and his brother, James. They said their farewells, and Rex and Beverly hugged before he got in the car to leave for the airport.

"Goodbye, Rex."

"Goodbye, Beverly."

With that, they drove off to the airport, and Rex was off to the far away Kalos Region, with no hopes of Beverly and he to ever meet again. Rex never took off the bracelet Beverly gave him.
