When Rex looked closely, he realized who it was, and his eyes went wide.

His mother was hugging a blond girl, slightly taller than Rex. She had light blue eyes, and was wearing a green sweater with a hoodie on top of a white shirt, and black jeans tucked inside her black boots at the ends.

The girl's name was Beverly Marsh.
Rex had not seen his best friend in 8 years. Never did he think they would see each other again, yet there she was. Rex wasn't sure how, but he still recognized his friend, even after all of these years. Her face was a face he just wouldn't forget. Ever.

"Beverly?" Rex asked in a low voice. Beverly let go of his mom.

"Hey. I didn't think you'd recognize me after all these years," she said nervously. "It's been a while, hasn't it?"

Rex began to slowly walk towards her, thinking this whole thing had to be a dream. When he was about a foot away, he enveloped her in a hug. He was so happy that they were finally reunited after all this time! Beverly was surprised by his actions, but recovered and hugged him back. "I can't believe you're here, Beverly. I've missed you so much," Rex said in a low voice, trying to avoid screaming in her ear.

"I've missed you, too, Rex."

His mom and brother were smiling at them from the gate of the house. When they finally let go of each other, Beverly noticed Rex still had the bracelet she gave him.

"You still have that bracelet?" she asked surprised.

"Yeah. Never took it off," he said showing it off.

She pulled up her sleeve a little to show her's as well. "Yeah, me neither." They both laughed.

"Well, guys, let's go see Bev's parents. I haven't seen them in so long!" his mom said as she started to walk towards Beverly's house. James, Rex, and Beverly followed soon after.

"Wait up, mom!" James yelled at her.

"James has grown so much," Beverly said.

"I know! You have too. You got taller than me," Rex said.

"Yeah, I know. I always thought you'd be taller, but I guessed I thought wrong," she teased.

"Whatever. I'm not done growing up just yet."

They got to Beverly's house, and she entered. "Mom, dad! Guess who our neighbors are," she said motioning for them to enter. Her mom came out of the kitchen, and her dad walked down the stairs.

"Oh my god! Iris, I haven't seen you in years!" Beverly's mother squealed as she ran towards Rex's mom, Iris.

"Cara, how have you been?"

The 2 women moved to the kitchen along with Beverly to talk along with Beverly, while her dad, Joe, greeted the two young men.

"Rex, James! You two have grown so much!" he exclaimed. "How's your dad Barry doing?" Barry was their father, also Joe's childhood friend.

"He's doing good," Rex said. "He got a job at Lumiose Press, so he's staying at a hotel in Lumiose City while he gets settled in his new job."

"That's excellent, tell him I said hi."

After an hour of talking, they got a call from a Professor Sycamore, and their mothers could not contain the excitement, for a new chapter would be written in their children's lives.
