- Y/n pov:

I woke up with a yawn and turned over, wincing at the pain in my back. I could feel a warm pair of hands hugging my hips.
"Good morning Love." He softly spoke.
"Morning blondie." I smiled back.
I sat up and he joined me. Today was greenie day. I was half excited and half not. I mean I guess it was a new friend but I still don't really like the idea of new people. We dressed and headed to breakfast hand in hand.
We sat down for our eggs and toast enjoying the morning buzz. Everyone knew it was greenie day.
We all headed to our usual jobs and started work. Well everyone but me. I, once again, returned to my tower. I liked to watch things. To overlook things from high up. I started to sing.

I was running far away
Would I run off the world someday?
Nobody knows
Nobody knows
I was dancing in the rain
I felt alive and I can't complain
But now take me home
Take me home where I belong

I just kept repeating it all day. Somehow it felt special to me.
Suddenly a blaring alarm filled the air. The box was coming up and so was the new greenie. I didn't move. I didn't really feel like meeting this boy; knowing it would be a boy.

I was humming to myself just watching the unfolding scene. The greenie had been lifted out of the box, but started absolutely sprinting for the maze. Then he tripped over a small twig and face planted. We all laughed. Alby helped him up and started to explain to him what was going on because obviously he couldn't remember.
After a few minutes Newt walked over to him an and started to lead him around the glade. Everybody else had returned to their jobs so I continued my singing.

Isn't it lovely
All alone
Heart made of glass
My mind of stone
Tear me to pieces
Skin to bone
Hello
Welcome home....

I continued the song, words just flowing out of me. It felt like home. It felt real. I sat up there for maybe another 30 min before climbing down the tower to the centre of the glade. I crossed it and made my way to my hut. I entered and changed from my hoodie into a green, cropped tank top and black shorts. Today was very hot.

I decided to walk round the glade in hopes of healing my back faster. Then I bumped into Newt and the greenie.
"Oh hey Y/n." Newt smiled at me
"Sup Blondie." I replied.
"Greenie this is Y/n." Newt said to the greenie.
He had medium dark brown hair, and was quite tall. He looked pretty strong but no where near as strong as Newt.
"Hi." He said staring at me in awe.
Ugh I hated when the greenies did this. They would look me up and down, licking their lips as if I were a delicious steak.
"So I see you've met my boyfriend then." I said to the greenie snapping him back to reality.
"Boyfriend?" He asked slightly confused.
"Yeah. Did blondie over here not mention he was my boyfriend?" I said desperately trying to make him stop eyeing me.
"No he didn't." Greenie muttered.
I pecked Newt on the cheek and headed back to the watch tower.
'Ugh I hate that greenie.' I thought to myself.
I climbed up the ladder and sat down in my normal spot and tucked one knee to my chest.

- Newt's pov:

The box alarm went off through the glade and we all ran toward it. Me and Gally opened the doors and I hopped in. I pulled the greenie out and climbed out myself. Then the greenie started absolutely bolting for the doors. He looked like he would be a good runner. Then he tripped over some kind of twig and face planted. Laughter erupted around us and Alby walked over to him.
After a few minutes everyone had returned to work and I walked over joining Alby.
"This is Newt, second in command." Alby said introducing me.
"Hey there greenie. Great run you had there. Thought you had the chops to be a runner, til you face planted." I said.
"Newt do you mind showing green bean around? I have matters to attended to." Alby asked.
"Sure no problem." I replied before starting to walk off, the greenie behind me. I was explaining about all the jobs and the buildings. Then I heard her again. Y/n.
Since she couldn't work she had started to sit atop the tower singing songs, she could remember them now.
Her voice was just beautiful and mesmerising.
"Who's that singing? I thought there were only boys here." I heard greenie ask behind me before stopping next to me.
"That's Y/n the only girl in the glade." I said staring up at the tower.
We continued our walk. After a while we were heading over to the hammocks when I bumped into someone.
"Oh hey Y/n." I said her eyes meeting mine.
"Sup blondie." She replied.
"Greenie this is Y/n." I introduced her.
He just stood there looking her up and down before relying quietly with "Hi.".
I hated it when the greenies drooled over Y/n. The only one who hadn't was Josh.
"So I see you've met my boyfriend." She smiled at him, snapping him back to reality.
"Boyfriend?" Greenie asked looking confused.
I chuckled to myself.
"Yeah. Did blondie here not mention that he was my boyfriend?" She asked him. I just smiled.
He looked down disappointedly and muttered, "No he didn't."
Y/n pecked me on the cheek before walking off. She didn't like him and I could tell.
I finished the tour and left him by the hammocks with George.
Then I went to find Y/n. I climbed up the shaky ladder to the top of the tower and found her there humming to herself.
I sat down next to her.
"So not a fan of green bean then?" I asked. She looked at me shocked.
"How did you.."
"You always stroke your hand repetitively when you don't like someone." I cut her off.
She just nodded.
We just sat there in silence. She gently layed her head against my shoulder and I packed an arm around her shoulders. We might not have found a way out, and she might be in pain but we had each other. That was all we needed.
