Chapter 3, Part 2

Nightfall had finally arrived for Izumi and Itachi.

Their plan had been created, and it was now time for them to put it into action.

Izumi stood at the edge of the building, adjusting her headband. If it fell during a battle, she might not be able to get another.

Itachi approached her and kneeled down to her level while she was checking her ninja pouch one last time. "Are you ready, Izumi?" Itachi asked, meeting her gaze.

Onyx's eyes locked with Izumi's. She will continue to love the same eyes she fell in love with so many years ago.

She smiled softly at him, "Yes, I am ready." She responded as she rose from her seat.

They both looked at the city in front of them, admiring it one last time. As it could probably be its final time in this state.

Izumi looked at the ground, still holding back her confession to Itachi.

"Itachi, I-" Izumi said, as Itachi looked at her puzzled.

Her face was bright red and hot. Itachi watched as she brightened and placed his hand on her forehead. "You're burning up! Izumi, please do not overthink it... I can always take over if things get too-" Izumi abruptly cut him off by kissing him on the cheek.

Itachi was stunned by the action and stared at her in shock.

Izumi looked at the ground with mixed emotions, "G-Good luck, Itachi. We will win!" She exclaimed as she leapt down from the building.

Itachi observed her actions and witnessed her disappearance before him.

His hand moved up to his cheek and touched the spot where Izumi's lips had been. His cheeks flushed, and he could not help but smile as she gestured.

"Izumi, I-thank you." Itachi exhaled as he disappeared as well.

They both went to their agreed-upon locations and searched thoroughly.

Izumi was in charge of locating the cells and rescuing all of the women and children. Itachi, on the other hand, planned to defeat as many enemies as possible in order to make it easier for Izumi to enter.

She arrived at the first building and quickly hid her chakra from the enemies before sneaking in.

One...

Two...

Three..

Four...

"There are four enemies!" Izumi counted. Her eyes popped open, and she waited for Itachi to enter.

As soon as he caught up, she threw the smoke bomb and watched the enemies become alarmed.

She jumped out of her hiding place, and Itachi and Izumi defeated the enemies: "Fire style: Fireball jutsu!" Itachi exclaimed.

When the fire was out, Izumi activated her Sharigan and checked for any remaining enemies.

"Izumi! Watch out!" Itachi shouted. She shifted to the right and avoided an attack thanks to her Sharigan.

Itachi kicked the enemy into a wall, causing him to stumble to the floor and moan.

She looked for a door and eventually discovered a passageway that led underground. "Follow me!" Izumi exclaimed, running downstairs.

Itachi followed after her, believing in her abilities. She senses danger and follows chakra signatures. She was confident they would be able to find them quickly.

When they saw a horde of enemies, they both came to a stop. Izumi's eyes widened at the count. "Itachi, there is a lot-" she trailed off when she noticed he would disappeared.

She returned her attention to the enemies and noticed that his susanoo had been activated.

In a matter of seconds, all of her enemies were defeated before her eyes.

"That also works, I suppose..." Izumi mumbled as she dashed after him to find another exit.

Izumi led the group through what appeared to be an underground passageway.

They both walked carefully through the passageway, avoiding making any loud noises. But the water beneath them splashed with every step they took.

A bright light then illuminated the dark passageway, causing Izumi to squint her eyes in an attempt to see what was in front of her and Itachi.

Their eyes widened as they observed the scene in front of them.

Izumi was stunned by the sight and exclaimed, "Woah... that's a lot."
