Epilogue

"WAKE UP, IZUMI!" Itachi shouted as tears welled up in his eyes.

Sakura stood beside him, tears streaming down her cheeks as she channeled her chakra into healing her.

Izumi remained lifeless beneath them. Blood dripped from her mouth, and the dagger that had struck her was thrown on the floor far away.

Sakura focused on doing her best to heal her wound. But it felt impossible, especially given how deep it was and how much blood she had already lost.

However, Izumi did not die. Not yet.

Her body was getting colder, and she could only see so much. However, she could still make out the voices and who was present.

"I-Itachi?" Izumi spoke quietly.

Itachi looked at her in surprise, but he immediately began shouting, "Do not talk, do not talk, Izumi! I will not let you die!"

He began to panic as he tried to be useless to Sakura while also attempting to help her.

But as he watched her, he realized there was nothing else she could do.

Tears started to fall from Izumi's eyes.

Itachi wiped them and placed her head on his lap as he looked at her. Returning his gaze, she used her remaining strength to touch his cheek.

More tears streamed down her cheeks as he stared at her in confusion. "So warm," she said, smiling.

Itachi's hand clung to his cheek, refusing to let go. Her hand began to feel cold, but he was simply warming her up with his body heat.

He shed tears on her face, but she did not mind.

Sakura felt herself running out of chakra and becoming tired, but she refused to lose Izumi. Not now, nor ever!

Using her Byakugou seal, she used more chakra to assist and heal her.

Izumi could feel her strength returning, and her wound was healing more quickly, but she doubted it would help much longer.

"L-Listen... Itachi-" Izumi spoke only to be cut off by Itachi.

"No, do not speak. You will only make yourself worse..." Itachi spoke as he rubbed her palm against his cheek.

She refused to listen, though. "N-No... There is nothing more you can do. Sakura understands that it is not helping.

Itachi only looked at her in shock. "Do not say that! I know we can get you out of this; come on and fight through it! Please do not die on me!" He shouted.

Izumi closed her eyes and shed more tears.

Itachi looked at Sakura intently, "We can get to the hospital quickly! We can find something so that you two can help her heal while Naruto and I get you there."

"I-Itachi!" Izumi shouted with all of her remaining strength.

Coughing, Sakura looked at her nervously as she felt that she was losing her again.

He looked at her with teary eyes.

"I... I love you..." Izumi stated as she sobbed.

His eyes widened at her words.

Why is she saying this now? She was about to die, right there in his arms.

Itachi grabbed her even tighter. Sakura began to hyperventilate as her body became colder.

"E-Every time I saw you, I felt a renewed sense of hope. I have loved you since I first saw you... Making me feel all sorts of things. Warmth and happiness. I wish the same for you, Itachi." Izumi spoke out as she closed her eyes.
