Chapter 4, Part 5

"K-Kazuki..." Naomi cried on top of her brother's corpse.

She never expected Itachi to have that trump card up his sleeve, and when she saw it, fear set in. To think he figured out her skill so quickly.

Her "shadow" jutsu turned out to be the summoning jutsu.

When he noticed her pointing her finger at him, he knew what was up. They were stronger than normal summonings, but they were also stronger.

How in the world did he defeat that big one she summoned when it was one of her most powerful?

Naomi gritted her teeth as she tried to devise a new strategy to avenge her brother.

"Kazuki, I will avenge you..." Naomi spoke as she stood up from her position. She moved to the center of the room and summoned a new puppet.

A puff of white smoke filled the room, and the room shook violently, with a loud bang heard throughout the building.

The puppet appeared, and it was stronger and larger than the others.

Naomi chuckled, "Itachi Uchiha, you will die!" she yelled, pointing the puppet at the room.

Itachi and Izumi noticed a significant amount of dust and smoke in the other room.

"No, it can't be..." Itachi thought to himself as he stood up to take a look.

When he arrived at a corner of the damaged wall, he noticed the giant puppet marching towards him.

"That girl..." Itachi mused to himself as he ran back to Izumi. Picking her up in bridal style, he jumped upwards and into the exit to find a safe hiding spot for her.

Izumi looked at him, perplexed by the commotion, "Itachi, what is going on!?" She asked.

"This girl has the ability to summon puppets and is still alive. They are strong, and I don't want you to be hurt... Itachi said as he finally found a safe enough location.

He gently placed her down and kneeled before her to ensure she was not further injured. "I-I can still fight! Itachi, please—" She was cut off when Itachi placed his palm against her cheek.

"No, Izumi. Please, let me do this. I am not going to risk it because you are far too injured." Itachi stated with a serious tone.

Izumi looked at him with defeated eyes. She was determined to fight, but in her current condition, she would not be able to walk until she could heal herself further—which would take a long time given that she had used up too much chakra in her previous battle.

She gazed deeply into Itachi's eyes. Eventually, she accepted it. "Okay, you win..." Izumi said, looking away. Itachi gave a sigh and patted her head.

He stood up and looked down at her. "Don't worry, I will not leave you," he said simply.

Itachi turned away and went to fight the giant shadow.

When he arrived, he saw that the previous room had been completely destroyed—it was a shambles and not a place he would want to fight in.

Nonetheless, he remained and continued his battle against Naomi's puppet.

He made hand signs, and a fireball erupted from Itachi's mouth, lighting up the entire room and striking the puppet.

Itachi watched it burn, but the fire was not enough to kill or destroy it just yet.

He dashed to the other side of the room, dodging all of the attacks the puppet was launching at him. If he wanted to get rid of the puppet first, he needed to find the person holding the strings.

"Not on my watch!" Naomi yelled as she directed the puppet to block Itachi's path.

He was kicked against a wall, and she used earth style to trap him.

"Now die..." Naomi spoke bluntly.

She watched as her jutsu defeated Itachi.

Naomi panted heavily. Because that puppet consumed so much of her chakra, she could only use earth style jutsu at the time.

She walked towards her brother, panting heavily. Her vision was starting to go black, and she could feel herself passing out.

Then she remembered one final thing. "N-No way! I did not fall under his—"

"But you did," Itachi said coldly as he stood behind her, a kunai stabbed into her heart.

Naomi watched as he took it out, and the blood splattered on the ground with it. She collapsed to the floor, breathing heavily and attempting to catch her breath.

"B-Brother..." Naomi spoke as she attempted to extend her hand to Kazuki.

But, before she could, Naomi had collapsed from pain and died. Her chakra was gone, and her previous puppet had also fallen.

Itachi approached her and gently picked her up.

He approached Kazuki and laid her down next to him.

Itachi stared at them coldly."Your bond was so strong..." Itachi said. He later took off, and went to Izumi's side.

When he arrived, his eyes grew wide at the sight.

She was taken captive. And by none other than Kuro himself.

"Not this time; you will not win!" Kuro exclaimed, muffling Izumi's screams with his hand.

A kunai was around her neck. With just one slice, she could die.

This was not what he was hoping for.
