Christmas in South Korea was just as festive as Los Angeles, if not more. The weather was certainly more fitting.
"Honey, I'm home!" Jennie sang as she barged her way through your front door, making very good use of that spare key you gave her all those months ago.
You snort out a small laugh, looking back from where you sat on your couch, one arm resting on the back. "Hi there, darling," you shot back just as easily, teasing back with the pet name.
There she was, all wrapped up in her long coat and scarf to fight against Seoul's dry winter. "It's snowing!" Jennie squealed, setting down her things and taking her precious time to unravel all the clothing that bundled her up.
Usually, you'd be up before the front door even had a chance to close so you could help her take off her jacket and shoes and set down all her things. But in that very moment you found yourself immobile, stunned and in a trance at the very sight of her.
The colorful lights of your Christmas tree in the corner reflected off of her skin and in her eyes. Her smile was so present and existing that you shook your head to yourself in disbelief.
"What?" Jennie asked as she approached you, leaning over the back of the couch to plant a kiss to the top of your head.
You looked up, snapped out of your daze. "Nothing. Hi," you whispered softly, tilting your chin upward to connect your lips with hers. "How was your meeting?"
Jennie shrugged, not even bothering to walk around but instead climbed over your couch to collapse right onto you. You let out a small groan but embraced her anyhow. "Same old, same old."
You hummed, pulling her in close as you laid back, you two chest to chest. "I missed you."
She gave you a small smile. "And I missed you."
You blinked slow, tapping the tip of your nose with hers.
"How was laying around all day?" she asked. Her hand traveled up, fingers finding their way to the back of your neck where she played with the short hairs there.
You let out a indistinctive noise just as she moved into the space of your neck, pressing her lips to your pulse point.
Jennie chuckled against your warm skin. "Are you still tired? I didn't wear you out last night, did I?"
You snickered, sliding a hand down to the dimples on her back. "Hardly," you replied with pursed lips. "And even if I was still tired, it had nothing to do with last night and everything to do with my thirteen hour flight."
She looked unimpressed. "If you say so..."
"Thirteen hours!"
"I never said anything after my thirteen hour flights... Weekly..." Jennie gave you a pointed look.
"Fine."
"Mhm," she sounded, cocky and smug and you hated that it wasn't a bad look on her.
"Shut up," you snarked, flipping the two of you over so fast that it punches the air out of Jennie's lungs.
-
"Wake up."
You let out a groan. "Way too early."
"Y/n," Jennie whined into your ear. "Y/n."
"..."
"Y/n." It was sounding more like a mantra than your actual name, Jennie enunciating every letter just to annoy you. "Merry Christmas, pabo."
Your smile cracked through, eyes still closed. "Merry Christmas, my love."
Jennie pressed a kiss to the corner of your mouth, a sweet reward for a sweet endearment. "We have to open gifts."
