Taehyung woke up in the morning, wincing as a sharp pain shot through his head. The room spun slightly as he sat up, and he immediately knew he had drunk far too much the previous night. The events were hazy, fragments of laughter and music swirling in his mind. He was startled to see his father standing by the doorway, arms crossed, a stern yet concerned look on his face.
"Good morning. I hope you slept well after yesterday," his father said, his voice a mix of reproach and worry.
Taehyung groaned, pressing his fingers to his temples in a futile attempt to ease the throbbing pain. "No, not a bit," he muttered, feeling a wave of nausea roll through him.
His father's gaze softened, though his concern was still evident. "You shouldn't drink so much. Or... did you have a reason to get so drunk?" His eyebrows lifted in a questioning arch, clearly seeking the truth behind Taehyung's reckless behavior.
Avoiding his father’s piercing gaze, Taehyung tried to compose himself, though he felt anything but steady. "How did I get home?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Namjoon brought you here," his father replied, watching his son's reaction closely.
"Namjoon?" Taehyung repeated, his eyes widening in shock. "He... he saw me like that?"
"Yes," his father confirmed. "You were very drunk, Taehyung. You clung to him, and he wouldn't leave you alone until you were safe. When he wanted to leave, you didn't want to let him go."
Flashes of the previous night started to come back to Taehyung in disjointed pieces. He remembered leaning heavily on Namjoon, slurring words he couldn't recall, feeling a comforting hand steady him. The realization brought a flush of embarrassment to his cheeks. He buried his face in his hands, groaning softly. "Shit..."
His father sighed, moving closer to sit on the edge of Taehyung's bed. "Son, it's okay. We've all had moments we'd rather forget. But you need to understand why you felt the need to escape like that. Is something troubling you?"
Taehyung hesitated, his mind racing. He wanted to brush off his father's questions, to retreat from the prying concern. But deep down, he knew he couldn't keep everything bottled up forever. "I... I guess I just felt overwhelmed," he admitted finally. "Everything's been piling up, and I didn't know how to handle it."
His father nodded, his expression softening even further. "It's important to talk about these things. Bottling them up only makes it worse. Next time, come to me. Or to Namjoon, or anyone you trust. We're here for you."
Taehyung looked up, meeting his father's eyes. There was no judgment there, only a deep, unwavering love. He took a deep breath, feeling a small but significant weight lift from his shoulders. "Thanks, Dad. I'll try to remember that."
His father smiled, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "That's all I ask. Now, let's get you some water and something for that headache. We'll talk more later, okay?"
Taehyung nodded, grateful for the support. As his father left the room to fetch some water, Taehyung lay back down, staring at the ceiling. Despite the lingering headache, he felt a sense of relief. He knew he had a long way to go, but he wasn't alone in his journey. And that made all the difference.
Jungkook adjusted his tie for the third time as he walked into the sleek, modern conference room. His reflection in the glass walls showed a composed exterior, but inside, his thoughts were anything but calm. He caught a glimpse of Jimin sitting at the far end of the long table, surrounded by members of his team, all of them absorbed in their tablets and laptops.
Jimin didn’t look up. His eyes were fixed on his screen, fingers tapping away rapidly. Jungkook could feel the tension between them like an electric current, crackling and dangerous. It had only been a day since that unexpected, impulsive kiss. A moment that had shattered their long-standing animosity and replaced it with an unbearable awkwardness.
