Jimin, still feeling the sting of embarrassment, glared at Jungkook. “Why does everything have to be so complicated? Why are you suddenly trying to fix things?”

Jungkook frowned slightly. “It’s not about fixing things. It’s about facing the reality of our situation. We’re going to marry each other. Pretending nothing’s changed isn’t helping either of us.”

Jimin’s eyes narrowed. “So, you’re saying you’re trying to make things better because you have to? Why now?”

Jungkook’s voice grew sharper. “Why did you let me kiss you then? If you’re so set against changing things, why did you let it happen?”

Jimin’s face flushed, and he stumbled over his words, clearly flustered. “I—I didn’t—I mean, that was—”

Jungkook’s gaze remained steady. “It wasn’t just a random mistake. I saw how you reacted. You didn’t pull away right away. So why are you denying it now?”

Jimin’s stuttering turned into frustrated denial. “I—I don’t know. It was a mistake, okay? I didn’t want it. I don’t want any of this.”

Jungkook stepped closer to Jimin, his tall frame looming over him. Jimin looked up, feeling a surge of vulnerability under Jungkook’s intense gaze. “A mistake?” Jungkook repeated, his voice low and steady. “Is that really what you believe? Because I think you’re more confused than you’re letting on.”

Jimin’s eyes darted away, struggling to maintain his composure. “I—It was just a moment. I didn’t mean for it to mean anything.”

Jungkook’s face remained close to Jimin’s, their proximity almost electric. “You didn’t pull away right away. That’s not the reaction of someone who thinks it’s nothing.”

Jimin’s cheeks flushed, and he clenched his fists at his sides. “I don’t know why I didn’t pull away. It was just—”

“Just what?” Jungkook interrupted, his voice firm but soft. “What is it that’s really bothering you? You can’t deny that there’s something more here. You’re not being honest with yourself, or with me.”

Jimin’s eyes met Jungkook’s, filled with a mix of anger and confusion. “I don’t know why this is happening between us. I don’t know why you’re suddenly trying to make things work. It’s just—”

“Explain then.” Jungkook pressed, stepping even closer, forcing Jimin to confront his own feelings.

Jungkook leaned in, his gaze sharp and penetrating. “Do you really hate me that much?"

Jimin flinched at the closeness, feeling the heat of Jungkook’s breath on his skin. His heart pounded in his chest, and he struggled to meet Jungkook’s intense gaze. “I don’t hate you. It’s just... confusing. Everything has changed so suddenly, and I don’t know how to handle it.”

Jungkook’s expression softened slightly, though he remained close. “So it’s not hatred. It’s fear. Fear of change, fear of what we might become.”

Jimin swallowed hard, his defiance wavering as Jungkook’s words hit him with a truth he wasn’t ready to confront. The closeness between them, the intensity of Jungkook’s gaze—it all made the butterflies in his stomach turn into a wild storm. He was confused, scared even, but more than that, there was a pull towards Jungkook that he couldn’t deny.

Jungkook’s eyes searched Jimin’s, and he stepped even closer, his voice dropping to a low, intimate murmur that sent a shiver down Jimin’s spine. “What are you really afraid of?” he asked, his tone gentle yet probing. “Is it the change... or is it the possibility that you might actually want this? Want me?”
