As Jungkook drove through the dimly lit streets, the tension in the car was almost suffocating. The low hum of the engine was the only sound between them, save for the occasional frustrated sigh from Namjoon. The atmosphere was thick with worry, each man lost in his own thoughts, the weight of the evening pressing down on them like a heavy blanket.

Namjoon’s phone buzzed in his hand, but it was only the operator’s voice echoing through the speaker. “The person you are trying to reach is currently unavailable,” it said, followed by the beep that signaled the end of the call.

Namjoon frowned, the concern etched into his features deepening. “He’s not picking up,” he muttered, his voice tinged with anxiety.

Jungkook’s grip on the steering wheel tightened, his knuckles turning white. The silence that followed was thick with unspoken fears, each second that ticked by adding to the growing sense of dread. Namjoon’s mind raced, piecing together the possibilities, each one more troubling than the last.

“If what I think happened then…” Namjoon began, his voice trailing off as he realized he was about to speak his fears aloud.

Jungkook shot him a quick glance, his eyes narrowed with worry. “What?” he asked, his voice sharp with concern. “Namjoon, what do you think happened?”

Namjoon immediately regretted letting those words slip. He should have bitten his tongue, kept his fears to himself. The last thing he wanted was to add to Jungkook’s already heavy burden.

“Just drive,” Namjoon said, trying to divert the conversation, his voice slightly strained. “Maybe we’ll spot him on the way.”

But Jungkook wasn’t so easily deterred. His worry only deepened, the unknown gnawing at him as he continued to navigate the darkened streets, his mind racing with possibilities.

Jungkook’s eyes scanned the sidewalks, the headlights cutting through the night as he silently prayed to catch a glimpse of Jimin. Each block they passed felt like another mile of worry stretching between them, the tension between Jungkook and Namjoon thick with the unsaid, with the fear of what they might find—or worse, what they might not.

Namjoon’s phone buzzed, and he quickly answered, his voice tense. "Vicky? Really?" His relief was palpable as he listened. "Thank God! Please, keep an eye on him, okay? Thanks." He ended the call with a sigh of relief.

Jungkook, his eyes still focused on the road, couldn’t keep the urgency out of his voice. "Where is he?" Even knowing Jimin was safe, the need for reassurance gnawed at him.

Namjoon turned to him, his expression softening. "He’s at his parents' villa. My assistant, Vicky, is with him."

Jungkook’s grip on the steering wheel tightened with determination. "Let’s go there."

But Namjoon shook his head, his voice firm yet gentle. "No, Jungkook… let’s give him some time."

Jungkook’s frustration was evident in the way his jaw clenched. "Namjoon—"

"Trust me," Namjoon interrupted, his tone steady as he tried to calm the situation. "Give him some time."

The car fell into a tense silence, the only sound the hum of the engine as they continued down the road. Jungkook’s thoughts churned, the unanswered questions swirling in his mind. He took a deep breath, trying to suppress the frustration that threatened to boil over.

Finally, unable to hold back any longer, Jungkook spoke, his voice quieter but laced with determination. "I need to know… what did you mean by what you said earlier?"

Namjoon hesitated, glancing at Jungkook from the corner of his eye. He looked out at the passing scenery, struggling to find the right words, the truth weighing heavily on his conscience.
