Taehyung sat alone in his room, his mind adrift as he gazed at the fading sun, casting its final golden hues over the horizon. He couldn’t shake the image of Jungkook and Jimin, once bitter rivals, now seemingly inseparable. The idea gnawed at him, a silent tempest of unease. The notion that there could be something more between them was almost unbearable.
With a frustrated sigh, he ran his fingers through his tousled hair, the uncertainty palpable in every movement. His eyes then drifted to his bedside table, where his cell phone lay still. Grabbing it, he unlocked the screen with a practiced swipe and composed a text message to Namjoon. The message was straightforward: “Can you get in touch with Jimin for me? I need his number.”
Moments later, the response came. Taehyung quickly saved Jimin’s contact information and dialed the number with a trembling hand. As the call rang out, his mind raced with questions and doubts, waiting for the line to connect.
The persistent ring of the cell phone echoed in the quiet room until Jimin finally answered, his tone clipped and formal. “Hello,Park Jimin is speaking.”
On the other end, Taehyung took a deep breath, summoning his resolve. “It’s Taehyung. Meet me at Hoseok’s restaurant in twenty minutes. I won’t be waiting.”
Jimin’s response was a bemused chuckle. “And what makes you think I’ll come?”
Taehyung’s voice was firm, unyielding. “I’ve made my request. Be there.” With a decisive click, he ended the call, leaving Jimin with only the faint buzz of the disconnected line.
Jimin pulled up to Hoseok’s restaurant, the gleaming exterior of his luxury car reflecting the late afternoon sun. He stepped out with a practiced elegance, his movements fluid and deliberate. The soft beep of the car locking behind him was a subtle reminder of the opulence he carried with him. He strode purposefully toward the entrance, his gaze already scanning the interior for Taehyung.
Inside, Taehyung was seated at a table near the window, his posture rigid with crossed arms. As Jimin approached, a wave of unease washed over him. The sight of Jimin—immaculately dressed and effortlessly poised—evoked a churn of jealousy and apprehension within Taehyung. The thought of Jungkook being captivated by Jimin’s flawless appearance only deepened his anxiety.
Jimin's eyes locked onto Taehyung's, and a cool, imperious mask settled over his features. He approached the table with an air of indifference, his expression carefully neutral. Standing before Taehyung, he addressed him with a voice as crisp and unyielding as ice. "What did you want?" The words dripped with a disdainful detachment, as if addressing something insignificant.
Taehyung stared resolutely at the table, avoiding Jimin’s gaze as he wrestled with his nerves. Summoning his courage, he finally spoke, his voice steady despite the turmoil inside him. “I needed to talk with you.”
Jimin's response was swift and dismissive, his tone sharp. “About what?”
“About you and Jungkook.” Taehyung met Jimin’s eyes with a piercing intensity, his expression a mix of apprehension and resolve. Jimin’s eyes narrowed as he took his seat slowly, the weight of Taehyung’s words settling between them.
