Shen moved quietly through the hallways, his talons clicking softly against the stone floor as he made his way back to the bedroom quarters. The early morning light filtered through the tall windows, casting long shadows against the walls. He reached the doorframe and paused, his keen eyes resting on the bed where Y/N lay. She was turning restlessly in her sleep, her brows furrowed as if caught in a dream that wouldn't let her settle.

A slight frown creased Shen's face as he observed her discomfort. He stepped into the room, as silent as a passing breeze, his feathers barely making a sound as he moved to her side of the bed. His gaze softened as he knelt beside her, watching her face for a long moment. Without a word, he gently brushed his feathers against her hair, the tips gliding across her forehead and down her cheek, their soft texture soothing her with every pass.

The effect was immediate. Y/N's restless turning slowed, then stopped altogether as her breathing became steady once more. Her face relaxed, and she seemed to sink deeper into the comfort of the bed, the tension that had gripped her fading under Shen's careful touch.

Shen lingered for a moment longer, ensuring that she was truly at ease before rising back to his feet. His movements were still delicate as he backed away from the bed, his eyes never leaving her peaceful form. Satisfied that she was resting comfortably again, Shen turned and quietly slipped out of the bedroom.

As he made his way back to the kitchen, the clock struck 7 a.m., signaling the start of a new day. Today was no ordinary morning, however. Today was special. Shen had a plan, and it was going to be perfect. His heart swelled with purpose as he set about preparing a small breakfast feast for Y/N—the woman who had come to mean everything to him.

Opening cupboards and shelves, Shen gathered a variety of ingredients, his movements precise and practiced. He retrieved eggs, fresh vegetables, fruit, and a selection of herbs and spices. From the fridge, he took out delicate pastries he had prepared the night before, ensuring that everything would be just right. The kitchen filled with the rhythmic sounds of chopping, sizzling, and stirring as Shen worked, his mind focused on the task at hand.

He didn't often get the chance to spoil Y/N like this. More often than not, she was the one doting on him, always making sure he was cared for, always anticipating his needs. But today, Shen wanted to turn the tables. He wanted to pamper her, to show her just how much she meant to him. Each dish he prepared wasn't just food—it was a reflection of his love, a small gesture to express how deeply he cared for her.

The scent of cooking filled the air as Shen moved between the stove and the counter, his feathers brushing lightly over various utensils as he expertly managed several dishes at once. He wasn't preparing a grand feast in terms of quantity, but rather a series of small, flavorful dishes, each carefully crafted to delight her senses. A fluffy omelet filled with herbs and cheese, a light fruit salad sprinkled with honey and mint, and a couple of delicate pastries that he knew Y/N would adore. The sizzling pan added the final touches to the warm breakfast, the ingredients coming together in harmony.
