The new girl

Chapter 2

Today was the most dreaded day is my life. It was terrible. It all started when my alarm rang at 6:30 am. I hit the snooze button which is the best button ever.

I sat up and got dressed. I wore my dark skinny jeans, my red shirt with my leather jacket, and my black flats. I decided to wear my hair down today and leaving it curly.

I walked downstairs and into the kitchen like everyday. And as usual there was my mom cooking breakfast.

"Morning sweety, did you sleep well?" She asked. I shook my head.

"It would had been better if I could sleep in." I told her. She shrugged her shoulders.

"Well at least you woke up to go to school. That's great news." I rolled my eyes.

"Mom, school is the worst place ever." I said. She shoook her head.

"Once it's gone you're gonna miss it." She told me.

"Whatever you say. Anyways if I don't go now or I'm gonna be late." I said while finishing my French toast.

"Ok see you. Bye, love you." She said. I waved.

"Love you too." I said while walking up to the bus stop. Once it go here i hopped on and the bus took us over to school. I hopped off and walked into the school. I first spotted Silena at her locker applying some make up on her face. I walked up to her and greeted her.

"Oh hey, Annabeth." She said in a bored tone.

"What's wrong?" I asked. She sighed and put away her make up.

"Listen Annabeth, you know when you insult a friend you kinda insult the rest. And that is just what you did with Percy and Nico. Now I appreciate you speaking your mind, but you just did it to the wrong people." She explained. I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms.

"Now as you see, I just don't care. Someone had to put them in their place. And besides if they want respect, they're gonna have to earn it." I told her. She crossed her arms and then slammed her locker shut.

"Then j guess you loss all of your friends today on your second day of school. I hope you're happy." She walked away.

"I am happy." I yelled causing a lot of kids to look at my direction. I glared at them making them walk away. Who needs them anyway. There are tons of kids that would die to be my friend.

I walked to my locker and collect my stuff. Luckily, Percy wasn't at his locker. I walked off to homeroom and sat in the very back seat. I didn't realize that tears were streaming down my face. I guess it was hard because surprisingly this year was the first that I made friends. I used to not like talking out loud, but I guessed it changed in middle school.

Mr. Brunner came up to the front of the room with a stack of paper.

"Class, if I could have your attention. I have permission slips for you. We are going on a field trip next Friday. We are going to Montauk Beach. You will be pared up into two so none of you will get lost or something. Any questions?" Thalia raised her hand.

"Can we pick our own partners?" She asked.

"Well actually, it was already assigned by the principal." He answered. The whole class groaned.

"What if you don't like your partner?" A girl named Drew asked. He shrugged his shoulders.

"Well then don't go." He said. She pouted and crossed her arms.

"Can you tell us our partners right now?" I asked.

"Yes I can. The partners are Piper and Thalia, Drew and Luke, Silena and Jason, Nico and Ethan, Travis and Katie, Clarisse and Chris, Hazel and Frank, and Percy and Annabeth." He replied. My jaw literally dropped. No this wasn't supposed to happen. I couldn't be pared up with him.
