Annabeth's POV

The next morning Hazel drove me off to school. I quickly entered inside the school. It was November and it was quiet chilly outside. Thankfully the school had heat in here. It felt really nice.

As I collected and put away my stuff in my locker I saw Percy coming my way. I started to freak out. Will he say anything to me? Or will he completely ignore me?

"You're blocking my locker." He said. I blushed and moved aside for him. I awkwardly walked away from this uncomfortable situation. When I turned my head back I saw him looking at me. I turned my head back and made my way over to homeroom.

Just my luck. There were two seats left. One next to Thalia and one next to Piper. I like Thalia better, so I sat next to her. She watched me as I simply sat down.

"Hey." She said. I waved at her.

"Hi." I said back. Since there was nothing we wanted to do with each other, we said nothing.

Now Percy came in about 5 minutes after me. He wore a smirk on his face as he took a seat next to Piper. I don't know why, but I hate it when he gives that sly grin. It annoys me to the bone.

"I actually have nothing scheduled for you today, so you may talk amongst yourselves." Mr. Brunner said. Nobody that I want to talk to here.

Thalia turned toward me. I hope she doesn't actually hope for me to talk to her. Kinda of in a bad mood because of Percy, even though he didn't do anything.

"So Annabeth how is life?" Thalia asked. I raised an eyebrow at her.

"Um...life is...fine I guess." Unless you count not be able to be with your family, then yeah.

"Just so you know, Annabeth, I told Percy the truth." She said.

"You did? What did he say?" He asked. She bit her lip.

"He actually didn't say anything. He just nodded and left." She answered.

"When did you tell him?" I asked.

"This morning." She answered.

"Oh okay. I'll talk to him later." I said.

"He has a girlfriend you know." She said. I bit my lip.

"Oh yeah, I forgot." I muttered. I turned my attention away from her. When the truth comes out this happens.

Math

Let me tell you this, I hate math and I always will. I don't get any of this weird stuff. My head hurts thinking about math so much. I raised my hand.

"Could you repeat that?" I asked. She glared at me.

"I will not repeat anything to anybody who wasn't paying attention." She said. I rolled my eyes at her.

"Sorry that teachers were to help students and not dismiss them." I muttered. She once again glared at me and continued with her lesson.

Why do we need this stuff in life? I don't know. And I should start thinking about college, but I have senior year to do that. On the other hand, it's never to early.

Lunch

I wanted to talk to Percy and clear things out with him. He probably thinks that I am desperate when he denied me like a lot of times, but I'm just trying to see the problem here.

So I walked up to his table, and all eyes are on me. I looked at Percy and he looked away.

"Could I talk to you Percy?" I asked. He didn't say anything. I wondering if I should go or stay here awkwardly.

"He doesn't want to speak to you." Jason said. I nodded.

"Okay...bye then." I scurried off to my table. I want to look back at their table, but I'm afraid they would catch me looking.

"You okay, Annabeth?" Katie asked. I nodded my head.

"Oh yeah, totally fine." I answered. She raised her eyebrow, but dismissed it.

Yeah, anyway, so maybe I did something wrong to him, or even he was embarrassed to admit that he was wrong, and thatI was right.

Suddenly I wanted to have something in my mouth. I right away knew what it was. I wanted a cigarette. Putting one in my mouth was the biggest mistake I have ever made in my life. I knew I should have listened, but if someone tells me not to do something, I'm gonna do it.

Then I felt a tap on my shoulder. It was Silena.

"What?" I asked. She handed me a note and left. She could have just answered me.

"What does it say?" Clarisse asked.

"I don't know." I said while I started to unfold the note.

"Read it!" Hazel said. I cleared my throat.

"Annabeth, meet me at the front of the school, after school. -Percy." I finished off.

"So are you going?" Katie asked.

"Yeah, I guess." I said. She nodded.

"What do you think he wants to talk about?" Katie asked.

"I don't know, some complicated stuff, I guess." I said. I shrugged.

"Anyways, I heard you were staying over at Hazel's house." Clarisse said. I nodded.

"Yeah, I am. It's just until I make things right with my family. Although that may never happen." I said while looking down.

"Don't worry, Annabeth. Things will be better. In the end it will be." Hazel said.

"And how would you know that?" I asked.

"Because I too been through hard times. And now I'm happy."

After school

"Good luck." Clarisse said. I shrugged.

"This isn't about luck." I said and headed out the front doors of the school. At first I didn't see him, but then I spotted a mob of black hair. I walked up to him. He was leaning on a wall with his hands crossed.

"Hey." I said.

"Hi." He said back. There was a long period of silence. Well he needs to say more.

"So Thalia told you?" I asked. He nodded.

"Yeah she did. Sorry for not believing you." He said. I smiled.

"Yeah I forgive you. See Percy, when people make mistakes you forgive them." I said. He rolled his eyes.

"Okay, okay, I deserved that." He said.

"Yeah you did. So anyways how are you and your girlfriend doing?" I asked. He blushed.

"Well about that..." He said. I raised my eyebrow.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Okay you see funny story actually. I was kind of still mad at you, so I pretended to have a girlfriend to get you jealous." He said. I clenched my fist tightly.

"Are you serious? You made me start thinking about ways to kill her and she was all a lie? That was so cruel!" I shouted.

"Sorry, but I just wanted to know how you would react." He said. I crossed my arms.

"Well sorry doesn't cut it." I told him. He nodded.

"I know it won't. Let me make it up to you." He said.

"You sure will."

"Okay, how about I take you to the dance coming up?" He suggested. I pursed my lips.

"Never actually went to a dance before." I said. He smiled.

"Then we'll make this one special. Just for you." He said.

"Deal."
