The new girl

Chapter 8

Annabeth's POV.

"What brings you to my lair?" I asked. Thalia was the first to speak.

"Well Annabeth, ever since we pulled that prank on you with Percy, he has been moping around." She said. I shrugged my shoulders.

"Okay...what do you want me to do about it. He doesn't want to be with me." I told them.

"He does want to be with you. It's just that we haven't told him that we lied about what we said. And he also trust us more than you. Because we have been with him for a long time." Piper said. I raised my eyebrow at them.

"I can't do anything unless you tell him what you did yourself." I said. Silena sighed.

"I told you she wouldn't do anything." She said. I rolled my eyes at her.

"Besides, what would I say to him if I do decide to agree with your little plan?" I asked.

"Tell him that you are sorry that you lied to him." Thalia said.

"And why can't you tell him that you lied?" I asked.

"Because he wouldn't trust us anymore. And don't you want to be with him? I mean who knows how long your relationship could go." Piper said. I shook my head.

"If I'd get to go out with him, then cool. But it's not the end of the world. There are like...so many guys out there. And highschool relationships don't last very long, so either you tell him or he stays moping around." I said and walked away. I felt like a boss walking away and telling them off like that. It's an awesome feeling.

I walked to school today instead of the bus. It's really not that far, but I'm just to lazy to walk to school. And besides, I'm pretty early.

When I entered the school I met up with Katie. She's the only one who comes here early other than Hazel.

"Katie, I'm hungry." I told her.

"Why didn't you eat breakfast?" She asked. I crossed my arms.

"Well I didn't want to be in my house that long. People are gonna start waking up and then the peace and quiet will go away. Hey how about we go to Starbucks." I said.

"Sure, did you bring your car?" She asked.

"No " I answered. She shrugged her shoulders.

"Well then too bad." She said and laughed. She walked away laughing her head off. Wow...someone needs to remind me to make new friends. First Clarisse, then Katie? Hazel better stay nice.

Speaking of Clarisse...I got in trouble because of her.

I walked up to my locker putting my things in. When slammed in shut I was faced with Matthew? When I wanted to get away from family they always show up. And how did he come this early.

"Hey Annabeth." He greeted. I glared at him. He acts like I forgot what happened on Saturday.

"What do you want Matthew? Did I do something that makes you want to go tattle?" I asked. He rolled his eyes.

"Don't be childish Annabeth. Mom told me what you did. She said for now on that I'd had to keep an eye on you " He said. I bit my lip to keep me from screaming. Instead, I was mature and walked away before I showed him to my fist.

I saw Percy at the stairwell and I was going to pay a visit.

"Hey Percy." I said.

"Hey Annabeth. How are you doing?" He asked.

"Fine ever since you decided to end it with me." I told him. His face hardedned.

"Well you lied." He said. I crossed my arms.

"Actually I didn't. Your so call friends came up to my house this morning and we had a chit chat. They don't want to tell you the truth because their afraid you are not going to trust them anymore." I told him. He shook his head.

"And I should believe you because...?" Percy asked. I sighed and put a hand on his shoulder.

"Because...you like me." I said as I leaned into him. My lips brushed across his soft lips and I touched his lip ring. I wonder if it hurts to have it there.

I pulled apart and smirked at him.

"Well then Percy, I have to go. Bell is going to ring soon." I said and left him. I don't know why I did that, but I kind of thought that it was funny some how. His face expression and all after I kissed him.

It's weird how I came here early, but still found a way to be late for homeroom.

"Annabeth, what did I say about being late?" Mr. Brunner asked.

"I tried to get to class early, but I got side tracked." I told him. He gestured me to take a seat.

"Did everybody have a good time on Friday?" Mr. Brunner asked. Everybody mumbled yeah's and no's all at once. I raised my hand. He called at me.

"May I be excused?" I asked.

"Why?" He asked.

"Because...I don't feel so good " I said. That was a lie. I wanted to ditch school, but I need an excuse.

"Let me write you a pass to the nurse." He said. I kinda feel bad using him like that, but I need to get out of this place. And I'm not looking forward to math class.

I stood up and held my stomach. I walked over his to his desk and he handed me a pass. Once I was out the door I ran around the school. Then I walked out of it.

Now where shall I go? Hmmm....maybe I can head off to the park. Nah, they'll probably catch me. I guess I'll go to Clarisse's house. She said she wasn't coming to school today. She doesn't live far from here.

I walked into her house. She gave all her friends spare keys. See? She can be nice...sometimes.

"Hey Annabeth, what are you doing here? Wait let me guess. You ditched school didn't you?" Clarisse. I smiled sheepishly at her.

"Maybe I did, maybe I didn't." I said. I sat on her couch. "Hey where are your parents?" I asked.

"At work. They don't come back until late at night or something." She answered.

"And I still remember how you left me on Saturday." I told her. She laughed.

"Well why didn't you run?" She asked. I sighed.

"You don't know how much I tried to move my legs. They were paralyzed at the moment. You should have saved me Clarisse. I trusted you." I said with a hand on my heart. She shook her head.

"Oh well, too bad." She said.

"You and Katie, I'm telling you, you and Katie..." I said. She raised her eyebrow.

"Whatever. Anyways, did you actually wanted to try it?" Clarisse asked.

"Try what?" I asked. She smirked.

"The cigarette." She answered. I was quiet for a moment.

"Sorta, but just one time." I told her. She stood up and went up stairs. When she came back she had a lighter and a pack of cigarettes.

"Go ahead." She said. This time nobody was stopping me.
