Ionic Stadium, Sinnoh

"Alright, folks, that's a wrap on the game!" A familiar voice came from the loudspeakers filling the Ionic Stadium, "We've got fifty competitors left, meaning sudden death is all wrapped up, I say! Swing by the entrance to catch up with Camila."

Footsteps pounded through the various areas of the stadium, all frantically heading in different directions as the remaining fifty competitors searched around for the entrance. Some were able to locate the entrance quite easily, as the Flying-Type Pokémon could spot the entrance from long distances away. Others, though, had to rely on their knowledge of their surroundings.

"Well done indeed!" The voice exclaimed, "Bravo! Bravo, I say!"

Sitting at a desk just outside of the stadium's entrance was a familiar Gardevoir, one who watched each competitor emerge from the forest and make a quick dash over to her. With each competitor, she collected their headbands and used a small device placed on the table in front of her to input some information on each Pokémon that passed her.

With another competitor arriving at her desk and handing over his green headband, she imputed some data in the small device before declaring, "Seventieth place, Chomps the Carnivine. Head to the side entrance of the stadium, and a Pokémon will direct you to where you're supposed to be."

Standing in front of the shiny Gardevoir was a Carnivine, who let out a long sigh of relief as he allowed himself to relax. Just like the rest of the competitors, she recognized the Carnivine from the waiting area. He had showed up at the last minute to compete. She could hardly understand him with how odd his way of speaking was, but with a quick use of Psychic, she came to realize the reason why he was competing.

He came to find somebody.

Watching the Carnivine walk away, Camila's eyelids lowered a bit. She was watching quite the interesting Ion Cup with how many ties there seemed to be between the competitors. It wasn't too normal to see so many individual groups of Pokémon that seemed to know one another. This gave her a feeling that she'd enjoy seeing how the Ion Cup unfolded from there.

She continued to enter each competitor that walked past her, making sure they knew of their placement to ease their anxieties about not being in the top one hundred to go on to the first real stage of the Ion Cup. As she did, though, she grew a little concerned. She remembered seeing the Pikachu from earlier, Jacob, pass her, but by his side wasn't the Oshawott he came in with.

Thanks to her Psychic, she knew why the Pikachu and Oshawott were competing. They had a pretty noble cause to participate, and it was hard not to root for them. Not having seen the Oshawott any time between the beginning of the preliminaries and up to that point, she wondered if he had gotten eliminated some time in the three days the preliminaries had gone on for.

Flushing those concerns away, though, was the sight of four Pokémon emerging from the forest. While they all were quite battered and dirty from what she assumed was combat in the sudden death portion, they all retained their headbands, and were coming to check in.

With a smile on her face, she imputed the four Pokémon into the device.

"Eighty-fifth place, Oliver the Oshawott. Eighty-sixth place, Miles the Rockruff. Eighty-seventh place, Pixen the Pichu. Eighty-eighth place, Chloe," She listed, "Head to the side entrance of the stadium, and a Pokémon will direct you to where you're supposed to be."

Oliver let out a sigh of relief, "It's over... Finally, we made it..."

"Well, I wouldn't say it's over," Chloe chimed in, "That was just the prelims."
