Ionic Stadium, Sinnoh

"Solid hit!" One of the referees announced, holding up a red flag, "Ten points, Jacob! He advances to the second round!"

The first fight of the second group of fighters had come to its conclusion, with the Pikachu coming out victorious against his opponent. Jacob pumped his paws in the air, a victorious cry making its way out of his mouth. This was met with louder cheers from the crowd, especially those in the crowd who knew who he was. Behind him, collapsed on the battlefield was a Golem, who had blood running from her nose as she let out a groan.

Jacob glanced at the Golem for a moment before beginning to walk off of the battlefield. The fight had been quite quick for him. Initially, he was forced to fight against bad odds because of the Golem's tough, rocky body, which was able to withstand any of his attacks, including his punches amplified by his power. The only part on the Golem's body that seemed to not have that rocky exterior was her face, which she was constantly protecting by turning around.

Thankfully, Jacob had just learned a technique that amplified his mobility by a lot, being his 'Stream' ability, which, like his 'Strike' ability, was for the purpose of increasing his power in certain body parts. For Stream, it was his legs, making him able to move at high speeds for just a moment. This gave him the opportunity to go around and land a few attacks on his opponent, securing him the win.

"Critical hit!" Jacob heard soon afterward, "Ten points, Logan! He advances to the next round!"

Jacob's eyes widened. In his excitement about winning his fight, he had completely forgotten that the other three fights were in progress. That included Pixen's fight against Richard. The Pikachu glanced over at the battle, where Pixen was in the process of dodging and running away from Richard's Flamethrowers. Jacob proceeded to rush from his battlefield with the intention of joining Oliver and the Pokémon from Kanet to watch the rest of the fight. The Pikachu sifted his way through the spectator area before making it to where Oliver and the others were sitting.

Erika's nose twitched the instant Jacob got nearby, a familiar scent filling it. She couldn't ever forget the scent of her son, which was growing closer by the second. She turned her head in the direction of which the smell was coming from, almost immediately spotting the excitable yellow ball of fur that she was ever so proud to call hers.

"What did I miss?" He frantically asked, right before he was suddenly wrapped with the feelers of his mother, which brought him over to the Sylveon.

The Intertwining Pokémon nuzzled the Pikachu, feeling the corners of her eyes begin to sting, "I missed you so much..."

Jacob smiled, returning her affection.

Those who were watching the fight unfold, being Miles, Oliver, Akari, and Sophie, all glanced back to look at the Pikachu, who was still wrapped by his mother's feelers. Jacob quickly looked at their expressions. Miles and Oliver's clearly expressed worry, Akari looked hesitant to speak, and Sophie only shook her head, her expression flat.

Jacob took a deep breath in as he came to his conclusion, "Pixen's not doing so well, is he?"

After receiving four shakes of heads, the Pikachu slowly let go of his mother and moved over to where his friends were watching from. Jacob squinted to properly focus on the battle between Pixen and Richard, his brows raising the moment he spotted them.

Pixen wasn't doing well at all.

The Pichu was covered with different bruises and cuts on his body. He gasped for breath as Richard held him by his head, dangling him over the edge of the battlefield. The Charmander didn't seem to have any intention of dropping him out of bounds, though, apparent by the devilish grin plastered on his face. Richard didn't seem to have a scratch on his body, nor did he appear exhausted in the slightest. Rather, it looked like he was enjoying himself.
