Chapter 35: I suppose all good things come to an end.
*Maddy's POV*
Harry and I sat together on his couch, talking about the time we spent apart. I told him all about Colin and how Mum had changed and he told me about America. Every once and a while, I would interrupt him with a peck on the lips. He would do the same to me. Honestly, I was the happiest person alive. After an hour, I stood up from his lap and stretched.
"I'll run out and get us some lunch." I said. Harry stood up with me.
"I'll come too then." He insisted. I rolled my eyes and pushed him gently back onto the couch.
"You just got home. Relax. I'll be back soon." I pecked him one last time on his pouty lips.
"Drive carefully." He whispered. I nodded and exited the flat. I went downstairs and to my car. It was surprisingly still pouring outside. I started driving until I arrived at the supermarket. I got a cart and began filling it with random foods. If we couldn't eat all of this, we could always call Niall. As I made my way to check out, I grabbed a box of cupcake mix. I got in line at the cash register. I waited patiently, and couldn't help but spot a few gossip magazines next to me.
My eyes nearly popped out of my head. I snatched up about five magazines and felt my stomach clench uncomfortably. I threw them into the cart and got to the register. I paid quickly and left the store. The numb, broken feeling was back, no matter how hard I pushed it away. I drove carefully through the rain that only seemed to pour down harder. The weather matched my new mood.
I got to the complex and blindly made my way up to Harry's floor. I shouldn't be here. But he had a right to know why I was upset. I flung the door open and dropped the bags of groceries on the floor. I stormed to the living room couch. Harry was sitting, staring at his phone with a pained expression. He looked up at me and it turned angry, but was still obviously hurt. I'll bet I had the exact same expression on my face.
I slammed the magazines on the ground in front of him.
HARRY STYLES FINDS NEW GIRL!
WHO IS SHE??
IS STYLES CHEATING?!
ONE GIRL IS NOT ENOUGH FOR HIM!
STYLES MOTTO: NEW COUNTRY, NEW GIRLFRIEND!!!
Harry only glanced at them before standing and thrusting his phone in my face. There I saw pictures of me hugging and kissing my cousin, Colin. There were several articles claiming I was cheating on Harry. Bullshit. I pointed to the magazines on the floor.
"How could you?" I whispered. Harry kicked the magazines across the room.
"What are you fucking talking about? How could you?" He asked. He thought I actually cheated? Honestly, the nerve!
"I didn't cheat on your sorry arse! That's my cousin! Who is she?!" I glared menacingly.
"Cousin. Yeah, right!" Harry dramatically rolled his eyes, ignoring my question. That's it. I wasn't going to stand here and get falsely accused of something. I spun on my heel and walked out the door of the flat.
"Where the hell do you think you're going? Tell me who he is!" Harry bellowed. He was right behind me as I stomped down the hallway to the lift. I pressed the button and the doors to the lift opened. I stepped in and Harry followed. The doors closed and I was trapped inside with the last person I wanted to be with.
"You cheater! I trusted you!" Harry crossed his arms in front of his chest defyingly.
"Hypocrite!" I retorted. Harry's nostrils flared.
"What would possess you to cheat?!" Harry pressed. I ignored his ignorant expression.
"I didn't fucking cheat! Shut the hell up! Why can't you just leave me alone. You're the cheater. I was right about you from the beginning. You are a player. So get the fuck out of my life and stay out. I HATE YOU, HARRY STYLES!" I screamed.
Then the lights in the lift flickers off, leaving us in pitch darkness, and the machine came to a sudden halt.
