Jon stayed with Jacob in the hospital. Marianne was flying to California for a business trip when hearing about her son. She would see him when she got home as Jon and Callie kept her in the loop. Callie left after seeing Jacob. She had to get home for Everleigh. She also could not mentally handle it at the time.

Jon did not judge his daughter as she left an emotional mess. He knew that the whole situation was taking a huge mental toll on her. She would have to talk to Jacob again at some point, but for now they needed to focus on Jacob getting healthy.

"J... Jon? Jon? Is that... is that, y-you?" Jacob mumbled, rubbing his eyes as he was slowly coming back to reality after all the medication.

Over night, Jacob was in and out of sleep. However, he was so out of it he didn't know anything. They asked him some normal questions as Jacob could not answer them. The only thing he could answer was that his daughter's name was Everleigh. Now, he was slowly coming back to reality and saw his fiancée's father in the same room as him.

"Yep, it's me bud. How're you feeling?" Jon replied, seeing Jacob in an awful state.

"God.. I feel, I feel awful. Like I got hit by a... a car." He groaned, rubbing his eyes and looking at Jon.

"I'm sure you do kid. Do you remember anything that happened?" He asked as Jacob looked at the ceiling before wincing his eyes shut, trying to remember what happened the previous night.

"I remember... remember I had a blunt in my hand.... I remember smoking it. I remember having some whiskey near me too. I remember taking some other stuff too... just don't remember what. Then everything went black." He admitted, trying to jog a foggy memory.

"Yeah. Jacob, when everything went black you overdosed." Jon raised an eyebrow at the nineteen year old as Jacob grew confused.

"I did? Then why am I alive? Don't you die from that?" He questioned.

"Yeah, you can especially with how much you had in your system. But someone came just in time to save you." Jon explained as Jacob was still confused.

"Who saved me?" He asked as he felt all out of sorts.

"You're looking at him, kiddo." Jon said as he pointed to himself. Jacob's eyes got big, feeling stunned.

"You saved me? Why?" Jacob asked as he was taken back by Jon's actions.

"I've been in your spot, bud. I had an addiction problem about twenty three years ago, right as Mercedes was pregnant with Liam. We nearly lost Colby and that sent me over the edge. I was addicted to alcohol and pills, it was bad. I could've missed Liam's birth. Hell, I could've died. I had some health issues following after going to rehab, but I'm all good now." Jon opened up as Jacob listened to him.

"What health issues did you have?" The nineteen year old asked his fiancées father.

"In rehab I had a seizure that sent me to the hospital. And I had some blood sugar issues due to the alcohol withdrawals. Getting clean was the best thing I ever did though, thanks to Mercedes. She saved my life and I got to see all four of our children. I got to be around to watch them grow up and do some amazing shit. I'm eternally grateful for my wife. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't be here. And unfortunately neither would Tay, Cal, or Aiden." He explained as Jacob was stunned by everything Jon admitted. He knew some parts of Jon's addiction, but didn't pry on it. It also wasn't the topic of every night that Jon talked about.

"Wow, that's a lot. I'm glad Mercedes helped you and you got clean." He nodded his head, finding a new level of respect for Jon.

"I am too, that's why I saved you. Jacob, I've been in your spot before. I don't know what drove you to do all this, but you know why and I don't know how long this has been going on for. However, you need to get clean. Whatever happens between you and my daughter is your two's business. But you have a little girl that needs her daddy. She's only one, she needs you forever Jacob. If for no one else, you need to get clean for yourself and for her so you can be around for her. You really wanna miss all of her big milestones? More of her first words, first times trying sports, first day of school, first vacations, when she graduates high school, gets her dream job, she gets married and needs her dad to walk her down the aisle. There's so many things you don't want to miss, bud. Trust me, I ain't lyin' to ya." Jon laid it on to Jacob as his head sunk low, realizing everything Jon said was true.
