A few weeks later, it was WWE Battleground. Sasha Banks was defending her championship against Ronda Rousey. The Shield had another six man tag team match against Finn Balor, AJ Styles, and Luke Gallows. Sasha would come out after Liv Morgan would ultimately cost The Shield their match, building towards SummerSlam.
That's right, Sasha Banks and The Shield would compete as a team together at SummerSlam. After tonight, Ronda Rousey was leaving WWE. Sasha Banks would move on from her story with Ronda and begin teaming with The Shield. Mercedes and the guys were excited for this storyline. It was fun for them all to be a team.
"Mommy! There's Mommy!" Liam excitedly shouted as he saw Mercedes walk towards him, Jon, and Taylor.
"Hey bub! Are you ready to watch me and daddy?" She grinned, picking up her near three year old son and kissed his cheek.
"Yeah! Yeah!" He cheered before he wanted Jon, so Mercedes took Taylor.
"Tonight should be fun." Jon chuckled as he was playing with Liam.
"Definitely. I know I'm up first but then I'll come out during the main event." She said as she was referring to Jon's match with the guys as that was the main event.
"Mhm and you'll kick ass just like you always do baby girl." He winked as the two kissed and spent time with their kids before Battleground would start in just a bit.
Sasha and Ronda were kicking off Battleground with their one on one match for the Women's World Championship. They got twenty minutes and put on a classic, technical one on one match. Sasha Banks came out victorious as she retained her women's championship. Now, she could focus on the next story which would be developing later tonight.
"Great job, Mer." Rebecca said as she and Pam were waiting in gorilla for Mercedes as well as Jon with the kids.
"Yeah, great job dude. You did great!" Pam chimed in as Mercedes thanked them and hugged two of her best friends.
"On to the next one, right?" She asked with a laugh before finishing up her work for the night and moving to the next storyline.
