One Month Later|Extreme Rules

"I'm terrified to watch your match." Mercedes giggled while she and Jon were getting ready in their hotel room.

It was Extreme Rules. Mercedes didn't have a match, however she would be watching Jon's match. It would be Dean Ambrose versus Chris Jericho in an Asylum match. Mercedes was nervous to watch him even though it was definitely his type of match.

They were also excited to watch the main event. Joe had a match and Colby would be returning afterward. He was finally fully recovered from his injury and was excited to make his return. Joe and Jon couldn't wait for their brother to make his return to the squared circle as well. The girls would watch backstage as Rebecca would watch from gorilla for her man. They couldn't wait to see it all play out.

"Oh c'mon baby, it won't be that bad." Jon emphasized before chuckling and looking at his fiancée.

"Mhm." She replied, eyeing her fiancé.

"I just don't want you to get hurt baby, okay? I know how much you love to do this and I just don't want to see you so hurt." She added, sitting down with Jon for a moment.

"Hey, chin up." He said, lifting her chin with his finger.

"I've been in way worse matches, beautiful. I'll be okay tonight. Promise." He comforted her, tucking her hair behind her ear and kissing her cheek.

"Promise?" She repeated, moving her dark brown orbs to look into his ocean blue ones.

"I promise babygirl. Now, let's head to the arena." He whispered as the two got up from where they were positioned, grabbing their luggage and headed out of the hotel room.

After a short drive, the two arrived at the arena for Extreme Rules. They went to their respective locker rooms, getting ready for the night. Mercedes mostly stuck around with Rebecca and Ashley before Ashley had to get ready for her match against Nattie. Mercedes had fun with the girls, but after a while she met up with her fiancé to see him before his asylum match.

"Hey sexy." She winked, seeing Jon in a black tank top and jeans paired with his wrestling boots.

"Hey beautiful, ready to watch my match?" He asked with a chuckle, knowing she was still most likely nervous.

"I'm still nervous, but yeah. I know you'll do great and hopefully come out of it with no extreme injuries." Mercedes admitted before kissing her fiancé.

"Alright, well I gotta head up. I'll see you after my match baby. I love you." He commented as the two shared another quick kiss.

"Be safe, I love you too!" She shouted back before finding a spot in the back to watch her fiancé's match.

Mercedes was a nervous wreck through the whole match. She knew it was going to be dangerous. Maybe not as dangerous as some of the matches Jon had on the independent scene, but it was still dangerous.

There were a lot of risky spots, but Mercedes was most nervous at the end. Jon hit his finisher on Chris, landing on some thumbtacks. Chris got the worst of it, but Mercedes saw Jon on the screen have some in his arm and back. She quickly headed to gorilla to meet with Jon as she was worried to see if he was okay.

"Jonathan! Are you okay?" Mercedes quickly, nervously asked once she finally saw her man.

"Mercedes, I'm okay. Relax, just need to get some thumbtacks off my back." Jon replied before grabbing some water.

"Sit." She sternly said as he did as he was told. He was a bit confused before feeling her tug on his skin.

"Are you pulling out my thumbtacks?" He asked with a slight laugh in the tone of his voice.

"Yep, that's what love it about. It's not always about getting flowers and being lovey dovey. Sometimes it's pulling thumbtacks out of your man's back and arms." She replied before giggling, making Jon laugh a bit.

"You must love me more than I know then to be pullin' out these damn 'tacks." He shook his head before taking another swig of water, trying to stay hydrated after a near thirty minute intense match. She may be stubborn and a nervous wreck to watch his matches, but Mercedes would always be there for him after every match to at least make sure he was okay. That was one of his favorite things about her.

"You're right, I love you so much that I'm pulling out thumbtacks and going to bandage you up." She replied as she was pulling out the last few.

"Thanks doctor Mercedes." He winked as he turned his head and looked at her. She smiled, shaking her head as she finished cleaning him up and bandaging him up.
