Kailah

I walk slowly towards the office where Jeremiah is waiting for me

" Why didn't you call me first to tell me that you were coming? " I ask

He turns around to look at me, then he shrugs

" I never had to call you first Kailah, what's the problem ? "

" I know, I just think that...from now on, you should call me first "

He raises an eyebrow, perplexed

" Are you upset? "

I shake my hands and head roughly

" Oh no no... I'm not upset, I'm... I'm just..."

The image of Taehyung staring at me bitterly earlier after that kiss of Jeremiah hits me in the face

" I'm just...a little... overwhelmed, and nervous, you know... cause of the race " I try to convince myself more than Jeremiah with these lies

He walks towards me with a mischievous grin

" Nervous huh? " He says in a low voice

His fingers run on my collarbone softly, his head leans towards me in an attempt to reach for my lips

" I can help with that " he whispers before he tries to kiss me

I turn my face away

" Jeremiah...no "

" What is the problem Kailah? "

" This is my workplace, and right now, I'm working okay, and...and I also need to stay focused, I'm sure Ryan Davis is not having sex right now " I say as I push him away gently

He follows me, unconvinced

" Kailah, you've been doing everything in your power the last few months to avoid having sex with me, how do you call that a situationship that benefits both of us? "

" What is a situationship without sex? I mean...do you want me to date you instead ? "

I take a deep breath

I don't know why I glance involuntary at the galloping track

He smiles at me and nods

I exhale as Jeremiah passes the door

" See you at the race " he says loud enough for me to hear when he arrives outside

I follow him with my gaze until he reaches his car and starts it , then I walk to the window
