Kailah

" So you're telling me that you're not coming to the inauguration of the casino cause you are going to meet your man's family? " Says Bellatia with a mocking grin

I roll my eyes as I walk around a porcelain mannequin wearing a white maxi dress with a bunch of layers

We've been running from shops to shops to find the perfect dress for that party , and we still haven't found the dress that everyone agrees on

" How many times do I have to tell you that I'm not going to meet his family, you guys make it sound... weird, I'm just going to the party "

" Girl...it doesn't make sense " says Suki

" How so? " I retaliate with a sigh

" The Kailah I know don't go to those kind of conservative and boring parties with champagne and caviar , you won't be able to dance on top of tables " she replies

I laugh softly

" Let's say it's a new challenge " I say

" Did he force you? " Asks Bellatia " he is a Jungkook friend, I won't be surprised "

I laugh again

" Come on girls! I'm doing this by myself, he is not forcing me "

" But why? " They both say in unison, still can't believe that I'm going to such chic and classy private event

" Cause he asked me politely " I say with a shrug

They both remain silent for a moment before Bellatia speaks again first

" Woah, he must be really good in bed " she utters

" Oh shut up " I say, blushing

" You're in love with him aren't you ? " she asks

I try to act impassive but I know damn well that my red cheeks are betraying me right now

" No..." I protest slightly

" Kailah...what??" She says with a smile as if my no was a yes

" I knew it ! It's not just a like, you love him " adds Suki with wide eyes

" It's not... it's...well " I stutter

I feel overwhelmed all of a sudden, I sit on the banch in the fitting room as my friends sit by my side

" Is it really that obvious? " I ask with my face buried in my palms

" Kai... it's actually a good thing, why would you want it not to be obvious? " Asks Suki softly

I sigh heavily

" It's not a good thing "

" Kai " starts Suki, but Bellatia looks at her in a way to tell her not to continue

" I know what you've been through, that asshole didn't deserve you, he hurt you, he did the worse, but life didn't end there, stop repressing your feelings because of the past, we told you this a thousand times before Kai, not every men are like Chauncey "

I lean my head backwards as I exhale

" It's not only about Chauncey " I admit

" What else? " Asks Bellatia softly

" Even if I try to overcome my fears and try something with him, I know already that it's not going to work, I will never belong to his world, his family, his culture, their traditions...I won't belong there  "

" Kailah, stop being insecure... you're perfect as you are and I'm sure if you date him, it will not be that bad, you don't have to fit into his world, you just have to understand it and everything will be fine " says Suki softly
