Chapter 1 Rebirth

Gu Yun felt a headache, she slowly opened her eyes, and saw a gray bed curtain.

There was no such curtain at home, where was it? She carefully looked around the room, the blue brick walls, the dirt floor.

She stood up and tried to get out of bed, but the sudden dizziness made her fall back on the bed, with a dull pain on her forehead. She reached out and touched it, but felt the bandage.

Gu Yun was a little panicked, what happened to her? Was she abducted to some mountain area? I was working on my thesis in the dormitory last night, but I woke up in this shabby little house with a head injury...

As graduation season approaches, Gu Yun, like most graduates, is busy looking for a job while writing her thesis. After getting a job a few days ago, Gu Yun finally had time to work on her thesis. Since the next day was the deadline set by her tutor, she worked until three in the morning to revise the last draft. She was going to send it to her tutor in the morning, and then she climbed into bed and fell asleep. But she didn't expect to be here the moment she opened her eyes.

Before Gu Yun could figure out what was going on, there were footsteps outside, the door was suddenly opened, and a female voice was heard, "Hey, the girl is awake."

The person who came was a woman in her thirties, wearing a loose blue coarse cloth dress, with her dark hair combed back in a simple bun. The woman looked a little happy. Seeing that Gu Yun was just staring at her blankly, she felt a little distressed. She touched her forehead lovingly and said, "The fever is finally gone. Does your head still hurt? You got such a big bump. I am so sorry for you. Thanks to that person who carried you back." She paused and did not continue the topic. She asked, "Are you hungry? Wait, I will cook you some sugar water eggs." Liu Hehua wiped her slightly red eyes and turned to go out. Her daughter fell so hard, it was really a blessing from God that she could wake up. Gu Yun was shocked for a long time and did not pay attention to what she said. The clothes that the woman she just saw was wearing should be the clothes of rural women in the last century. She was sure that even in the poor mountainous areas, people would not wear such clothes now.

She looked at her hands. Although these hands were also white, they were obviously smaller than her own hands.

Gu Yun widened her eyes and fell into deep fear for a moment.

She endured the dizziness and got out of bed. She found the mirror on the closet and took a picture. The person in the mirror looked like her but not like her. Oval face, almond eyes, willow-leaf eyebrows, fair skin, more delicate than her original appearance, but also more childish. It was a bit like the woman just now, but that woman was a bit more heroic.

Then memories that did not belong to her flooded into her mind. It turned out that she really traveled through time and space, to China in the 1970s. The original owner was a little girl from the countryside. Her father was Gu Jianguo, her mother was Liu Hehua, and she had an older brother. She was the youngest sister in the family, and was spoiled by her parents and her brother at home. She was arrogant, conceited, and a little lazy.

The original owner, Gu Yun, was in junior high school in the town. Two days ago, she accidentally rolled down the back hill and hit her head. After lying in bed for two days, the core of this body became the current Gu Yun.

While thinking, the woman just now brought in a bowl of steaming sugar-water eggs.

"My dear, your favorite egg in sugar water. You have been dizzy for two days and finally woke up. Are you hungry?" Liu Hehua handed the bowl to Gu Yun, touched her head and said to her with red eyes.
