Mia stepped out of the shower, wrapping a towel around herself and breathing deeply.

She had scrubbed her body raw, making sure all of Charlottes blood was gone.

Reece had to practically beg her to leave the room. She had been sitting waiting for Charlotte to wake for forty eight hours before she finally agreed.

She wiped away the condensation from the mirror and stared at her reflection with uncertainty. She hadn't changed much but sometimes she couldn't recognise herself at all.

She always pushed herself to her limits. She prided in being strong and had built up quite some muscle tone over the past two years. She took notice of the black circles underneath her eyes cringing, she tried to wipe them away.

She dried herself off before dressing eagerly, she was getting more anxious by the minute not being near her girlfriend.

She had to keep telling herself that Reece was with her, that she was safe. But she was still uncertain.

She grabbed the comb from the sink drawer. As she dragged it through her hair angrily she noted how she was overdue for a haircut.

Once ready she hung the towel and left the room. She fled down the flight of stairs making her way as quickly as she could.

She was just approaching their room before she stopped just outside, she heard Autumn's voice from the inside.

The door was cracked open slightly and Mia peered inside cautiously, she saw Autumn sitting next to Charlotte.

Mia was a tiny bit shocked when she realised Autumn was holding her hand.

She moved out of sight quickly, pressing her back to the wall so she wasn't noticed as she tried to listen in.

She couldn't make out the words Autumn was saying and it made her sigh in frustration.

Suddenly the door was pulled open and Autumn stepped out, she caught sight of Mia, her eyes widening slightly before clearing her throat and nodding, "Mia." She greeted quietly before descending the stairs.

Mia raised an eyebrow in amusement as she disappeared.

She smiled slightly before she entered the room, gasping when Charlotte's eyes were open.

She quickly rushed to her girlfriends side. "Oh sweetheart, you're awake!" She breathed in relief before taking her hands and placing them on Charlotte's face.

Charlotte smiled faintly, "Hi." She whispered weakly. Mia felt tears threatening to spill at the sound. Oh how she missed that sound.

Charlotte tried to sit up, wincing slightly as she failed.

"Hold on, let me help you." She assured quickly before helping her sit upright gently.

Charlotte tried to thank her but her voice seemed to be frail and disobeying.

Mia sat on the bed next to her, she took her hands in hers and her eyes ran over her face wildly.

"You have no idea how sorry I am Char," before she could continue Charlotte lifted her finger and pressed it to Mia's lips trying to silence her, a small smile brushing her face.

Mia chuckled underneath her touch before she wrapped her hand around her girlfriends wrist carefully placing it back to her side.

Mia leant closer, letting her forehead drop against hers. With every ounce of strength Charlotte could gather she moved closer and let their lips graze gently.

Mia leant back slightly, tears starting to fall from her eyes as she smiled sadly. Charlotte lifted her hand once more and began to wipe them away, a saddened expression on her face now.
