Charlotte felt her heart stop, all the memories came flooding back, her mind finally broke.

She moved backwards gasping for air, clutching her head as she tried to breathe through the blinding pain, trying not to heave.

'I wonder how many times I'd have to stab you until I get to watch the light leave your eyes.'

'I'd love for my daughter to call you her aunt.'

'Who changed was it me or you?'

'We're your family now, you need to start acting like it.'

'It's your fault.'

'I never get to choose you, I'm so tired of never getting to choose you."

"Charlotte." Mia remarked lowly as she reached for her arms.

"No!" Charlotte cried moving away, her eyes wide and frantic as she tried to grasp onto her senses.

Mia stepped back, a cold expression on her face as she watched.

"Oh my god." Charlotte's voice wavered and she brought a hand to her stomach, she felt sick.

Charlotte looked to her, "You killed everyone." Her voice pained and faint.

"Autumn? Oh my god Nova." She was backing away trying not to lose balance at the shock.

Mia drew closer and wrapped a hand around her wrist, "They're not dead Char." Mia assured gently.

Charlotte shook her head in confusion, "The papers."

"They weren't their skeletons." Mia confirmed, her expression cold.

Charlotte felt as if her head were about to explode, "But why, why did you become The Vindicta?" She gave a low sob, she was shaking so violently she was surprised she was upright at all.

Mia's expression wavered slightly, "I was looking for you, I never stopped looking for you."

Charlotte sobbed and bought a hand to her mouth to try and stifle it, "Oh god."

Mia shuffled on her feet, "I know Char, I'm sorry I didn't come earlier I had to find a way in, I couldn't find you." Her voice shook slightly and Charlotte stared at her with loss.

"I went to all the institutions all over the country, any place they kept prisoners. But you weren't on any records or files it was as if you had just vanished."

Charlotte felt her heartbeat quicken as Mia continued in a rushed manner.

"I went back to your hometown, I found your cousins and aunts, I found the place where you had tried to hide your parents. I assumed you were dead until there was talk of you being imprisoned here, I had to join them, make myself seem loyal and kill to the top. I had to become a monster. Koro took great interest in me, knowing I was the one to kill half of his army alone, knowing I was ruthless, I became a weapon for him."

Charlotte sobbed and shook her head, "You looked for me?" Her voice was barely a whisper.

Mia's eyes grew wide, "Of course I did, I would search the world over and over again to find you, I wouldn't stop until the day I died."

Charlotte felt as if she were free-falling nothing was making sense.

"But Char we have to go, now, we have little time." Mia ushered.

Before Charlotte could respond Mia was guiding her out of the manor and outside, there was a horse waiting, one she faintly recognised.

"You have to trust me." Mia said adjusting the saddle.

Charlotte looked back to the manor, she could hear voices inside, she shivered and nodded towards her.

"Get on behind me." Mia instructed as she climbed on.

Charlotte didn't hesitate, she seated herself behind before wrapping her arms around the red-heads waist and nestling herself into her back.

Mia took the reins, "Go home Fighter." Her voice hard as she tugged the reins. Fighter kicked his legs before speeding towards the open gates.

Charlotte looked behind and watched in horror as the whole manor burst into flames behind them.

"How did you do that?" Charlotte exclaimed with adrenaline.

Mia smirked, "I have my ways sweetheart."
