"Ugh! Nothing." I said, frustratedly.
"Still? I don't know what the trigger is then... What the catalyst is..." Will said, starting to pace back and forth around the inside of the garden. We had been trying for days to figure out how we had made our connection glow between our fingers while asleep.
"Something to do with our... unconscious minds? I mean, we were asleep. And honestly, no other creepers besides THOSE two have ever seen us asleep before so maybe it's always been like that and we didn't know." I said, just trying to throw out a suggestion.
"I don't know... maybe. But how come we can't manifest that when we're awake. I mean, it seems like it could be something... really powerful... something... amazing! I want to use it!" He explained, clearly showing just as much frustration as I was.
"Well, it does us no good getting upset about it... we'll have to try to figure it out on our own. Have those dugbogs reoccupied their den? Maybe some real-life experience could help us trigger it."
"Hmmm. I have a better idea." He raised his brow while extending his hand to me.
I had calmed down significantly since our Gringotts debacle, so I took it without hesitation. And we strode out of the garden.
Will apparated us to the edges of the forest. So far north that I could almost see Pitt-Upon-Ford nearby.
"What are we doing here?"
"Well, there are some dark wizards about, trying to capture two trolls that live under a bridge. I thought we could take them all on and see what happens." His smile was big and challenging.
"All? The dark wizards AND the trolls? At the same time... Are you mad?"
"Maybe just a bit, little sister. But how else are we going to recreate a crazy scenario that forces us to use our most extreme abilities."
"Yes, I get it." I sighed. "Well, no time like the present, I guess." I grabbed his hand and we marched off toward where I knew the bridge was.
I could hear loud voices and spells being thrown. Forceful growls and screams from the trolls.
We were getting close.
We rounded a bend and the scene unfolded in front of us.
Six. SIX dark wizards and two trolls. This was definitely going to be a huge endeavor.
I took a deep breath and squeezed his hand. He squeezed back. His eyes were full of anxiety and I knew we were both feeling nervous.
We approached the wizards from behind. The trolls spotted us too, but were too preoccupied with the dark wizards in front of them.
I could feel Will's intent. He wanted to crush them all! It was an intense feeling. Our wands went out in unison and we cried, "Bombarda!" Three of the wizards blew backwards and exploded from the inside out, their guts and intestines splattering the ground. And all over the trolls, who looked momentarily stunned and then started to come after us.
I swift rolled away, trying to take Will with me but our hands broke apart. We were separated. He threw the torture curse at the other dark wizards, all three of them! He managed to get all three with one curse and they all writhed in pain.
I threw a quick freezing charm at the troll directly in front of me, swiftly rolled around him to get at the other troll so it wouldn't go after Will while he was handling the wizards.
"Diffindo!" I cried, violently slashing the troll. He cried out, his yell piercing my ears and making them ring.
Suddenly, the troll swung his club and on the back swing he hit Will, who went flying into the side of the cliffside. He slid down slowly, unconscious. FUCK.
