I gazed out of the car window, watching the landscape transform as we left the city behind.
Tall buildings gave way to rolling hills, lush greenery, and the occasional glimpse of the ocean.
I had always loved the idea of escaping the hustle of the city, but this weekend trip with Soo-hyun felt different.
It wasn’t just about relaxation—it was about us, about deepening our connection away from the distractions of our daily lives.
Soo-hyun was focused on the road, one hand on the steering wheel, the other resting comfortably on the armrest.
His calm presence beside me brought a sense of peace that I hadn’t known I needed.
As he drove toward the coastal town where we would be spending the weekend, I couldn’t help but reflect on everything that had happened between them in the last few months.
Things with Seo Ye-ji had been tense, but Soo-hyun had handled it with grace, and I was proud of how strong our relationship had become despite the challenges.
I glanced over at him, feeling a surge of affection.
How had I gotten so lucky?
"You’re awfully quiet over there," Soo-hyun said with a teasing smile, breaking the comfortable silence.
I smiled back, leaning my head against the headrest. "Just thinking. This feels nice… I'm getting away from everything."
Soo-hyun nodded. "I thought it might. We both needed a break. Plus, I’ve been dying to spend more time with you without all the interruptions."
My heart fluttered at his words. "Same here. I feel like we’ve been so busy lately. We haven’t really had time to just… be together."
"Well, that’s about to change," Soo-hyun said, glancing at me briefly before returning his eyes to the road. "This weekend is just us. No work, no distractions. Just you and me."
I reached over and intertwined my fingers with his, feeling a sense of warmth spread through her. "That sounds perfect."
When we arrived at the cozy seaside cottage we had rented, I couldn’t help but marvel at the view.
The ocean stretched out before us, endless and serene.
The sound of the waves crashing against the shore was soothing, and the salty breeze felt refreshing after the long drive.
"This is beautiful," I whispered, stepping out of the car and taking it all in. "You really outdid yourself."
Soo-hyun chuckled, coming around to my side. "I wanted it to be special. Something we’d both remember."
I smiled, leaning into him as we walked toward the front door. "I have a feeling this weekend is going to be unforgettable."
Once inside, we settled into the cozy space, complete with a fireplace and large windows that framed the stunning ocean view.
