Qin liked living in the lair, it was cosy but it could be bigger and hotter, still she did not complain, even if she was trapped in that lair for a while that was okay, it would only be for awhile. Qin talked a lot to both Harvey and Curtis, she asked them all kind of questions about themselves and where they lived. Harvey told her about him being a healer in a village near from the cave. Qin did not know what was the best thing to do. She told Harvey to go home and work as usual and not tell anyone about her. It was not wise to move at this time, winter would come soon and this lair looked safe still, she needed someone else to protect her while Curtis hibernated. She truly wanted to contact Winston but she could not go and find him, she had been sulking in the corner for some time trying to find a way to contact Winston without anyone noticing. Qin asked Harvey if he knew Winston but he did not know him but he knew of him, Curtis looked at her with displeasing eyes wondering why she was thinking of another beast when she had two right there, well more like one and a half since Harvey could not fight. Qin could see the look in Curtis eyes so she came to him and cuddled him. She told him she had seen Winston when her brother let her go on land for the first time. She told him he had been in a battle with many scorpions but he took them all down, she told him her brother had told her a lot about all kind of beasts, he had told her that snakes hibernating during the winter, then she looked into his eyes, staring at him with her innocent big blue eyes and told him what would she do while he was sleeping, she was just a cub and could not defend herself and Harvey had to be in the village or else they might search for him if anyone needed assistance. Everything that the cub was telling Curtis was right, still he did not like it one bit, she snuggled even more with him and played with his skin, telling him he would always be her best and strongest beast but she needed more to feel safe. She told him with tears in her eyes how frightened she had been when the ferals attacked, she was so scared and did not want to feel so powerless again and to not feel that ways she had to have strong beasts like him guarding her. He cuddled her and gave her a hm, he knew she was right so he would approve, even if he did not like the idea of sharing her attention. Ever since he met her life had been more fun, he even liked the scrawny leopard, he had been alone for a long time, he never thought he would ever get to have such a pleasant life but at this moment he was happy, he liked having a female cub, he never thought he would care of cubs but he liked her, maybe it was only because she was a female or maybe it was just because of her.
Qin asked Harvey if he could get to the city before winter and try to contact Winston, she told him to say that a certain blue haired female cub that thought he was cute said hi. Harvey remembered the words she said and took off on his way. Qin had also told him to tell Winston not to tell anyone about this and that she wanted to talk to him, she was fairly certain that he would come just to see if Harvey was telling the truth or not, still she would not know until Harvey came back. Curtis had given Harvey stones to buy things for Qin, nothing too obvious since it could not come out that they had a female cub in hiding, he wanted to buy more furs for her so that she wold sleep better at night. Harvey also wanted to buy as many herbs he could that were good for cubs to ingest.
He hurried to his home and got ready, he wanted to start the journey to the city the next day, he just hoped that Winston was still in the city and not off somewhere rescuing females. At dawn he started his trip, it would take him at least a full day and night to enter the city, it would be best if he could find a safe spot and rest for the night. Harvey was lucky he found an abandoned rabbits nest that was big enough for him to crawl in and sleep for the night. In the middle of the night he was awaken by beasts talking. They were talking about Qin, he was lucky that the smell of a rotten decay disguised him from the ferals, if it were not for it they would have killed him. He heard that they were looking for her and that they knew she was still alive and in the area, Harvey was scared for Qin and wanted to rush back to the lair and protect her but if they were targeting her it was wiser to try to get Winston to help her. He did not move and did not fall asleep again until they had long left the area. He woke again as soon as the sun came up, now he was in a hurry, he ran as fast as he could, he felt the need to find Winston very fast, she needed all the protection she could get, if the scorpions were after her she was in trouble.
It was the middle of the day when he finally entered the city. He was asked what he was seeking from the city so he asked he needed to buy herbs for healing, Qin had told him not to try to ask around for Winston, she had asked him to try to blend in as much as he could and not make any trouble, he knew how Winston looked like, everyone knew how the poor tiger looked like, how the scar had ruined him, because of his scar he could not get a mate, he just had to look around, pry, listen and find out where he most liked to be. Three days passed and he was nowhere nearer to find Winston, it seemed like he did not leave his home much if he was not needed and he lived in the castle, Harvey could not enter the castle without a reason so he could only do the next best thing, wait until the tiger left his castle. He had bought all he could dare to buy so he was happy with his stash. The only thing he needed now was to talk to Winston, then he could go back, so he hung around near the castle, trying not to be obvious but still he was, Muir had been watching him closely for two days, he was protecting the city by air, he could see the leopard sticking close to the tigers castle but did not go in, he knew that this beast was stripeless so no threat but he might be working for someone else trying to spy or get information. Muir had already told Bard about this suspicious beast, Bard had told Muir to watch him but not to engage him, he might slip up so they could know what the leopard wanted. Poor Harvey had tried his best to be low profile but he was just an innocent leopard, he had no training in stealth or hunting so his intentions were very obvious to ones that watched him, a certain tiger got a word about a suspicious leopard and he was asked to track him and see what he really wanted.
