Muir woke up after having slept for five days, during that time Harvey had taken care of him, he had fed him, kept him warm and clean. Muir had slept so long because he had used everything he had getting Harvey to Qin but it had not been fruitless, his sacrifice had earned him him something that had never been seen before, he had earned a mermaid mark on his forearm. It was rather small and cute, the mark sometimes glowed, Winston and Harvey were amazed by it and wondered what it was, he was the only one that had that mark, both Harvey and Winston where a little jealous because they were sure this mark had something to do with the cub, they wanted a mark like that too even if they did not know why he got it and what it meant. When Muir woke up, they first thing on his mind was Qin, he was devastated when he saw she was still sleeping, he wanted to kill they healer for not taking care of of Qin better, he was so sure Harvey would be able to help her. Muir looked at Harvey, his look had a hint of disappointment and anger in it so Harvey tried his best to explain what he thought was happening to Qin. He told Muir that he thought she was hibernating, everything indicated that, her breathing and the fact she was not withering even though she had not eaten in a long time. Muir looked at him and asked when she would wake up but Harvey had no answer, he just looked at Qin pleading for her to wake up soon.
Months went by with Qin sleeping soundly, nothing could wake her up, she was always so cold and her body became stiff, Harvey tried his best to move her feet's and arms but he could not tell if it helped or not, he tried everyday to try to wake her up but to no avail, he hoped she would wake up before spring, he especially hoped she would wake up before Curtis would come back to the cave, he was worried the snake would blame him for her failure to wake up.
Spring had finally arrived and Curtis woke up, it was always hard to wake up, the first week was always the hardest since you were still very tired and extremely hungry, it was hard to hunt when you were so tired, also his movements were heavy the first week, it took a little toll to sleep for such a long time but he would be his old self again very soon. He stayed in his cave for that week and hunted and slept until he had ate what he needed and gained the energy he needed for the journey back to Qin. He was restless, he missed the little cub, he hoped she had missed him during the winter time. He hurried his way back to the cave, he was so excited to see Qin again and get ready to travel far away from the city and her brother. When Curtis came back what waited for him was Qin sleeping and three anxious beasts hovering over her. He looked at Harvey and asked what was wrong with her, Harvey was a little frightened but said in a shallow voice that he thought she was hibernating but would most likely wake up any day now.
For the last week Qin had mumbled in her sleep, she did not move only mumbled, Harvey was overjoyed since he was certain this was the first sign of her waking up. He told the others she would most likely wake up soon so there had to be somebody with her always. Winston hunted while muir stayed with Qin, sometimes Muir went since they often quarrelled who would be able to stay with her, they all wanted to be there when she woke up but they also needed to hunt so they had to delegate and since Winston was both older and stronger than Muir he called the shots, still Winston was a good beasts so they took turns on hunting so there would be no resentment.
Curtis coiled his tail over Qing legs, she was so cold, colder than him, he was very concerned, he talked to her and told her she had to wake up now, she had slept long enough and they had so many things to decide before they would go on their journey. He did not leave her sight, he noticed the mark on Muir and was quick to go over and examine it, it was Qin, why was her mark on Muir? He got very jealous and wanted to kill that bird, he found her first and he had saved her first, he deserved the mark more than him, Muir could feel the killing aura Curtis was releasing and told Curtis to calm down and think of Qin, the name of the cub worked like magic on Curtis and always made him stop and think more clearly. Muir told him what had happened and he had woken up with this mark. Curtis did not like Muir in the slightest but he wanted to be able to look at the mark closely, it was very pretty, small and cute, just like the cub, he wanted to have her mark as well, they all did, they all were secretly envious at Muir but Harvey and Winston hid their jealousy because they knew nothing good would come of showing it to Muir but Curtis was not the same, he showed his feelings on his face, when he got angry everyone knew the only thing he could hide was when he was very happy, he only liked showing his best sides to the cub, she made him feel better about being who he was, she did not think of him as any different from any other beasts and that moved him greatly, she was the only thing that had ever touched his heart and he could not fathom anyone else being able to do so.
Two weeks after Curtis came back, Qin woke up, she woke up in so much pain, she was so tired and ached all over, she started to cry, but it was hard to talk, her mouth was so dry, she felt like she was going to die. Curtis was the only one that was in the cave when she woke up, Harvey went to get new herbs for Qin that he felt she would need when she woke up. Muir had went outside to relieve himself and Winston went out to hunt. Curtis did not know what to do, he very gently took her into his arm and told her again and again that everything was going to be alright, he cursed at the dam eagle having to have to leave at that moment, Qin needed Harvey straight away, he could not leave her. They had water ready everyday in case she would wake up so luckily it was close enough for Curtis to reach, he fed her water, he put the cup delicately towards her mouth and fed her water slowly so that she would not choke. Qin was so thirsty but she had a hard time swallowing, her throat was on fire just like all her body but she was so thirsty that she had to drink, she drank all the water Curtis gave to her, she tried to move her legs and arms but they were like dead weight, she was scared, she looked at her feet and legs and started to cry again, Curtis tenderness came forward as he soothed her heart, he told her everything was going to be alright, he said her body was just fighting her because she had been sleeping for such a long time. He patter her hair and told her that soon Harvey would come back and help her. Muir walked in on Curtis soothing Qin, he was so glad she was finally awake but he was alarmed because of the pain she was in, Curtis gave him a quick look and told him to find Harvey fast, he did not have to tell Muir twice, the bird was out of the cave in a flash, out looking for the doctor to make everything alright,
Since she had gotten something to drink she could finally speak a little, she told him it hurt as tears flowed down her face, Curtis tenderly swept them away with his fingers and told her just to wait a little longer, Harvey would come back soon and make everything alright.
Harvey had forgotten the time while out gathering herbs, he had gone too far away from the cave and too close to town, as he was gathering herbs Parker found him and asked him where he had been all winter, the town had needed him and he had just left. Harvey did not know what to say, he had decided to not come again to his hut until just about when they would leave. He had to lie, he could not tell Parker where he had been, he had to protect Qin and lie even though he hated lying, he had tried to lie when he was trying to find Winston but it had made everything worse, he was scared Parker would be able to tell but he had to but before he could answer Parker was dragging him back to town, telling him that it was urgent, Harvey did not know what to do so he just let him drag him, he was worried but told himself he would be quick, help those that needed help and hurry back to Qin since she might wake up at any time. Parker dragged him into Harvey's hut and told him to get what he needed. There had been a feral attack on the village yesterday and a few had been wounded, he told Harvey to get what he needed so that they could help the wounded. Harvey was a little restless, this might take a lot of time but he could not leave the poor beasts in pain so he decided to help, hoping that Qin was still sound asleep.
Harvey worked hard, some had been maimed heavily, so much that they would most likely not survive other would be just as good as before with a little time and care. He did what he could and told Parker he needed rest. Something told Parker that Harvey would leave if he would leave him alone, he was sure another village was trying to poach their healer, they needed a healer in the village and Harvey was also one of the best, he decided to to keep an eye on him just to see what he would do, he was not going to let any other village steal their healer at least not without a fight.
I hope you liked it, I'll update again in two to three days, thank you all so much from reading liking and commenting. What do you think of Muir mark? What could it mean? Have a great day ❤️
