Meeting Winston

While Harvey was off trying to find Winston Qin was reminiscing about her brother and her dolphin, she truly did miss them and felt very sad about leaving Jin, she thought about him everyday, hoping he was well but knowing he was most likely very sad, she tried to shake these feelings away, for she knew this had to be done, she hoped that when she was full grown and had many beasts in her harem she could hopefully meet Jin again and fix their relationship, she had thought to tell him that the crab had told her that they had killed her brother and she had been so sad that she had vowed never to return to the sea, she thought by this she could come off as an innocent and as the victims, she would tell him this story, she was sure he would buy it.

She had got to know Curtis very well after Harvey had left, he had taken her to the lake at night to swim, just the two of them, they were in hiding though and did not come up to the surface, Qin could breath under water, Curtis was the one who came up to breath from time to time but no one was suspicious, they did not know that everyone was looking for her but since she never surfaced no one could see her, she could enter the water in the cave so it was beautiful, still she did not go out of the cave for anything else, she knew it was not safe but she felt safe near Curtis.

Harvey and Winston had to stop and rest, Winston could go on but Harvey could not, he needed rest and that was alright, Winston had a feeling something was amiss but he could not sense anyone following them, both on air or land, it was just a feeling but he brushed it off, thinking he was getting paranoid. After a long travel they finally reached their destination, Winston told Harvey to try to find an entrance to the home without it being seen, they waited till it was night, a lot of birds did not see as well during the night but for some it did not matter, still they tried to do it as safely as they could. Curtis sensed Harvey and another beast so he knew he had returned. He told Qin they would be in his lair shortly. Qin was so excited, she could hardly wait, she could not wait to see his human form. Harvey and Winston came into the cave the first thing they saw was Qin smiling from ear to ear, happy to see them both, she ran to Harvey and hugged him, telling him she had missed him and he was glad to see him back, she then looked at Winston and told him she was so happy to see the cute tiger again, she asked if she could pet him and Winston allowed it, she petted him, he was so soft, she loved cute and furry things, she gave him many praises, happy to have met him again. After a while he morphed into his human form, Qin again told him he was so handsome just as her other guardians, Winston was not used to all this attention and blushed shyly, he had never been in this kind of circumstances so he did not know how to behave. Qin told him she liked him a lot, she told him she had not forgot how awesome he looked fighting that scorpions and how cute he looked too. She asked if he wanted to be her guardian until she would come of age, Winston really like this fragile little cub, everyone that would see her would want to protect her, she seemed so polite and kind too, he could not help himself and said yes, besides what was waiting for him, he had no mate and would most likely never have one, if he could guard her for the rest of his life he would be happy to do it. He vowed to himself to protect her with his life.

Qin was so happy, things were off to such a great start but she had a little twist in her stomach, was this not all just a little too easy, three of her favourite mates she had been able to find almost immediately after leaving the sea, she felt uneasy, since nothing had ever been easy in her life but hopefully it was just a feeling. They had a wonderful night getting to know each other better. They had decided it was not wise to leave the lair until next spring, it was too close to next winter, besides Curtis had hunted almost enough for everyone during winter. It was decided not to use fire unless they really needed to since it could attract attention from beasts, Qin could easily eat raw meat it just was not fun nor very tasty, still she could do it for one winter, it was not like she had ever had cooked dinner since she arrived here but she would definitely cook food when she could and impress everyone with her skills, she did not really cook much but she had enjoyed watching a lot of cook shows on her phone and what she had tried to cook had tasted good to her, hopefully it was good enough for them too.

Harvey, Winston and Curtis were afraid she might get cold during winter, she had reside deep under the sea where the temperature always stayed the same so they decided to hunt more so that they had more furs for her, they also decided to build a fireplace just in case it got too cold but they hoped they would not need to use it, Qin had no idea how she would fair during winter on land since she had never experienced it but she thought it would not bother her too much, she would just have to live through it and learn from it, she was positive she would be alright, after all she had a leopard and a tiger, both hot blooded beasts that could also keep her warm, she was mostly afraid of the boredom.

Muir was intelligent enough to stay far away so Winston would not detect him, he had seen him going into some caves but which one, there were so many openings for a cave, he would have to go on land and look, still if he got too close the tiger could easily sniff him out, Muir did not know what was best to do, should he set camp near and wait for them to come out, he thought that it was best to wait so he set camp near enough he could watch but far enough not to be detected. He was curious what Winston was doing, what was in the caves, was the leopards mate in there or his family, still this was not a den where a leopard would make a home, who lived there, Muir was very curious and could not wait to get some answers. He had a feeling he would benefit greatly by being patient and he was right.
