Making a deal

Qin had been so focused on finding help to locate the piranhas that she had not noticed them coming, she was in deep meditation and did not wake up until she was pullled in the air by Muir, she was very disoriented and had no idea what was happening. Muir took her high up so that she would be safe, it was hard to see what was happing down below but she did see a whole lot of beastmen walking towards Curtis, she was afraid, she had done something wrong and that they would get hurt, she could not do anything for Muir would not listen to her, she wanted to g0 back down and explain but Muir acted like he was deaf, she grew concerned and was afraid for her loved ones.

Harvey took the lead, he bowed deeply towards the leader, he wanted to score some brownie points and show them they were here in peace. The leader was annoyed and had no idea what was happening, he screamed at his soldiers to return back to their station, the rest stayed, ready for anything. Harvey politely told the leader his name and told him who the others were. Harvey pointed at the eagle in the sky and told him that his name was Muir and the little cub was called Qin. The leader was stunned for a moment, this was the little mermaid everyone was looking for, he never would have guessed she would embark on his territory, he could not imagine what she was doing there, had they stolen her from the mermen clan, if so they had done a good job, he hated them all, just like all the other piranhas did, the hate was strong between the two clans and would most likely always be.

Harvey asked for his name, the leader told him that he was Sulfur, he was almost just as strong as Curtis but if they would battle in the sea Sulfur would win, for that was his domain but on land Curtis would beat him so many would say they were evenly matched in strength but Curtis still was slightly stronger. Since Sulfur was eager to know what they wanted from him he was still talking to them, it might be to his advantage, if not he would just leave and never think of them again. He was still rather angry for being summoned among all his clan but he just had to know how she did it and what they all wanted from him. He had seen the mermaid cub, he knew she was the one that had summoned them, he had not known mermaids had such power, he wondered if just she did or had all the past mermaids had the same magic, if they did why did the red haired mermaid not summoned her mate towards her, he wish he knew, for the red haired mermaid had been loved by all the clan and still to this day she was remembered and prayed for.

Harvey started talking about little Qin, he told Sulfur that she was a mermaid as he had seen and that she was hiding from her clan, they were protecting her but her need for the sea was too strong, she needed to be able to swim in the sea without being afraid the mermaid clan might kidnap her. Sulfur was surprised and asked if she was with them willingly, Harvey said yes, while the other nodded their head yes, still Sulfur was sceptical, he said he would not believe it unless she would tell him so herself. Harvey looked at Curtis, he was a little unsure of what to do, they still did not know this beast and could not trust them but it was logical for him to want proof from Qin herself, Curtis whistled loudly so that Muir would know it was time to introduce Qin, they had planned for this, he would land far from them so if there was something slightly off he could just take off in the air back with her. Muir landed in a tree near the shore, Qin could see Sulfur and he could see her. She was a little too excited and waved towards him. Sulfur had to admit she looked very cute, such a shame she was not his little sister, if the mermaid would not have been stolen she would have been his sister, she looked so innocent, how lovely it would be to have a little sister like her.

Qin asked Harvey if they had told him about her need swim in the ocean, Harvey said yes, Qin told him she was sorry for calling them all to the shore, she did not know she could do that, she was trying to contact little fishes or little crabs for help to locate them, she told him she would not call them again unless she desperately needed their help. Sulfur asked her why was she contacting them, he had not relations with her kind, Qin was a little upset, she told him again she was sorry but she just did not know what else to do. She told him she had escaped her clan because she did not want to end up like all the other mermaids. She kept on talking so that he would not be able to get in, she told him what had happened to her mother and she just wanted to live and be free, she wanted what all the other females got, freedom to choose her own mates and to do what she wanted. Sulfur could understand but what was he supposed to do, Qin told him she had to swim in the ocean but she was afraid that her brother would find her. Sulfur told her that the mermaid clan never came here, they had an understanding between them, neither entered each other territory, it was forbidden.

Qin asked if he knew if Jin would feel her in the ocean but Sulfur did not know but he thought it was highly unlikely. When the mermaid had been taken it had taken them a good time to find her, since they did not know where she had been taken, if they had known they would have taken her much sooner but still he was unsure, he did not want to tell her lies so he told her he thought it was questionable. Qin asked him if him and his clan would be able to give her an oath to protect her, she told him instead she was willing to be his mate in the future, she told him she could also make salt and she was willing to give him a lot of salt in return. Sulfur was very surprised by her offer, Curtis was quick to tell her no, she was not going to promise making this fish her mate, it was impossible, they had not discussed that and he would not allow it, Winston, Harvey and Muir felt the same, they were scared he would just take her to his lair and make her his slave. Qin had not expected them all to refuse, it was a long time until she would come of age and she was certain she would be able to tame this piranha before she would become an adult. Sulfur could understand their fears, he would not allow it either for his cub to be matched with a beast before it became an adult, she was still so young, he could not see her as anything other than just a little female cub that needed protection. He decided to agree to help her for the salt, salt was a very expensive product and it was very useful. His clan were having trouble bartering, this part of the sea did not have many glamours nor useful things they could sell and most land beasts did not like eating thing from the sea, so things could be better, he could just see how rich his clan could become if she could produce as much salt as she said.

They made an arrangement and they shook hands, she had to deliver the five kilograms of salt before the piranha clan would honour the agreement and they wanted, five kilograms of salt every thirty days from spring to autumn. Qin agreed, it was not that hard for her, it would have been harder for her clan to make but for her not that much, this was a great deal for everyone, she could not wait to get back into the sea but first she had to make salt and a lot of it.
