chapter 6.

i slowly got out of bed and walked downstairs to the kitchen where i heard my mom's voice. i peeked my head in and walked in quietly where saw my aunt ty and my mom was on her laptop.

looking down at my feet i walked in not knowing what to say. my mom looked at me and smiled making me smile. she's so pretty.

"morning love bug. ty brought you breakfast. i assume you've never had fast food right ?" she asked me and i nodded.

"well it's really good and i think you will really like it" ty said pulling a breakfast platter from the bag.

"thank you" i said smiling at them.

"ofc. so tell us about yourself". my momma said.

"well um i love basketball. he only let me play if i was good and that turned into everyday so my love for it grew. i love to read, my favorite color is purple, and i can draw" i said making my mom smile at me.

"aww your a basketball girl. i love that. you can draw you love to read ? smart girl" ty said.

"so they want you to do an interview but i told them no. i wanna make sure of your answer" mom said.

"sure"

"gianna. you don't have too you do know that right ? if your not ready that's okay."

"i'm ready mommy. because i spent 13 years fighting to live. i waited 13 years for this moment and i feel like if i do this it will help catch him in some way" i said.

"okay, well i'm coming with you" and i nodded.

jackie🦋.

"so homeschool ?" i asked.

"can i go to a regular school ? i wanna play basketball. on a team with other girls. i wanna make friends" she asked.

"baby" i sighed.

"i want you to have all of that, but don't you think their gonna pressure you ? i mean you got so much attention on you now that everyone knows your home" i told her.

"yeah" she mumbled.

"are you ready for this ? i don't wanna take this away from you so if your ready than let's do it"

she nodded and smiled at me. i called the school and got her registration letter and all that. she is set to start school at the beginning of next school year. which is perfect since it's summer time.

"mommy. i don't blame you for what happened to me yk that right ? you did everything you could. i watched you on tv all the time wether it was the news or you playing basketball." gigi said to me.

i looked at her tears filling my eyes. because that was one of my biggest fears is gigi blaming me. it made me happy that she doesn't because although she was taken on my watch i did everything i could. that's all i wanted her to know was that i tried and never gave up on her.

"i love you babygirl." i said hugging her.

"i love you mommy"

i kissed her forehead and then looked at my watch. i knew i had to get ready for practice soon so i closed my laptop and set it down beside me.

"i have to go to practice, do you wanna come with me or no ?"

"ouu i wanna come. is sydney gonna be there ? she always makes me laugh" i smiled at her and nodded.

"yes, she's gonna be there. go grab a drink and let's go it's hot outside" i said.

she nodded and ran to the kitchen grabbing a Gatorade and we headed to my car. once we pulled up gigi excitedly got out the car making me smile.

"GIGIII" sydney yelled like a lunatic.

"must you yell ?" i asked rolling my eyes.

"yes no bye" she said as we walked into the arena.

we walked into the locker room and everyone started talking to gigi. although she might be as bubbly as before she loved talking to my teammates. they made her feel safe and comfortable and i love that for her.

"you wanna have a sleepover at my house ?" i asked and she nodded. she walked over to jackie and grabbed her phone.

"jackie get this baby a phone or i will" sydney said making me agree.

"guys.. idk if im ready for her to be on the internet yet. y'all know how people are" she said making me nod.

"understandable" kelsey said.

"but i'm ready. i don't care about them people" gigi said.

"PERIODT BABY" chelsea said.

"girl okay. we'll go to c-spire after practice" jackie said.

"spoiled" kiah said making gigi giggle.

we walked onto the court while gigi sat down on the bench taking pictures of jackie while she practiced.

"it's giving mini photographer" i said tapping jackie and pointing to gigi.

"so cute, i hope she's getting this interaction" jackie said and i nodded.

"hey gigi, wanna come shoot ?" kelsey asked and she nodded running up to us.

she started at the 3 point line where it was going in nothing but net. "alright boosie bad" chelsea said as we laughed.

"my girl said stop playing with her" i said making jackie nod. she went up to her and played defense and gigi did a reverse layup.

"AYEEE on yo mama HEADDDD you heard me" kristen said. jackie laughed and shook her head. she just couldn't believe her daughter ate her up like that.

"she's alright" jackie said shrugging.

"aww don't do that jacqelyn she ate you up and you know it" i said.

"let's do teams" chelsea said.

"bet. team captains ?"

"kelsey and aja" chelsea said and we nodded

"I GOT GIANNA MARIE" i shouted quickly. she smiled at me and ran over to me hugging me. "make me sick" kelsey mumbled.

we played a couple of games before practice started. becky was running a little late so it gave us time to chill and act like crackheads before having to put our game faces on.

"so is she gonna do the interview ?" i asked jackie.

"yes she's such a strong girl and she said she's ready cus maybe it'll help catch him in some way so yk."

"strong girl" i said and she nodded.

we got on the line while becky started taking. not gone lie i am kind of nervous about gigi being on the internet just because ik how people are but she said nobody's gonna stop her life anymore and i love that. that's my niece.
