"morning sunshine" my mom said.

"morning mommy.. where's dad ?" i asked sitting down.

"he went to the gym" she said.

"hey guys" my aunt ty said.

"morning tete." i said as she sat down beside me.

"you okay bestie ?"

"no this d*** shoe ambassador finna blow me" she said making my eyes widen.

"mm i apologize for my language." my mom added rubbing her forehead.

i nodded and got up grabbing the apple juice from the fridge.

"so i was wondering if i could do a birthday dinner and go skating this weekend with my friends" i asked.

"sure" my mom said not looking up.

"what are we gonna do for tete birthday ?" i asked.

she continued looking at her laptop so i just grabbed my phone and headed towards the living room.

"oh sorry love bug come sit" my mom said closing her laptop.

"im sorry i was trying get this situated but we good now. what did you ask me ?" she said leaning over the counter.

"what are we gonna do for tete birthday ?" i asked making sure she wasn't coming downstairs.

"we'll talk about it later on i don't wanna slip up and give it away" she said and i smiled nodding at her.

i grabbed my phone and texted bryce and juju.

i got on insta and started scrolling i was super bored and my mom wasn't paying me no attention.

"mom i have a question" i said looking down.

"ask me my love" she said.

"umm so i-i" i started. she grabbed my hand to give me comfort.

"you can ask or tell me anything baby. wassup ?"

"are these scars gonna be here forever ?" i asked.

"because everytime i shower and look at myself in the mirror that's all i see. a-and my private is really bruised" i said as tears filled my eyes.

"come here" my mom said grabbing my hand. she led me to the living room and we sat on the couch.

"love bug your body is different we all understand that i know that it's hard for you to look at those scars and your still beautiful".

"why do i feel so ugly" i whispered as tears fell.

"gianna stop. your beautiful the way you are baby. as a teenage girl every girl want that perfect beautiful body and just because you have scars doesn't make you any less beautiful than anyone else."

"what he did to you it's not your fault. and it's not fair but you gotta learn how to tell yourself i survived because God wanted me too. and these scars are a symbol of my braveness. your different and unique and that's okay" my mom said wiping my tears.

"even tho im 14 i worry about my future" i told her. my mom looked at me and tried to read my expressions.

"ahh.. i get it" my mom said.

"your worried about if your gonna ever find a husband. and you think it's gonna be hard to love you because of your body."

"i see you and bryce getting married. that boy loves you for you. and if no one else can love you for you they ain't for you. God gone send you the right one when that time comes baby."

"as long as you promise to love me forever. i wanna be myself" i told her.

"i will always love you for you baby girl. your different and im okay with that. do i wish it never happened ? absolutely but now you gotta go be yourself and love yourself. cus your dad and i don't see anyone different".

"we see a beautiful, smart, and talented young woman with a good heart. what happened to you or what's on your body isn't gonna change that" she told me.

i hugged her tightly. i have been working so hard towards loving myself. it's hard but with the faith of God ik it can happen.

"she's definitely insecure about it. & i can see why because that man put my baby through h*ll everyday but im teaching her to love herself no matter what" i said.

i love them. gigi really got the best aunties cus they gone always be there for her & make sure she good and let her know how beautiful she is i love that for her.

i grabbed my stuff and said goodbye to the team and i went to meet ty at the coffee shop. i walked in and saw her sitting on her phone.

"hey bestie" i said.

"hey how's she doing at school ? ik she was so emotional" ty said.

"she's okay. she texted me and lmk and im hoping that maybe it'll distract her" i said and she nodded.

"i just can't believe she doesn't see what we see" ty said making me nod.

"right and not even being biased but she is such a beautiful person. she just don't see that & it's hard having a teenage daughter that don't even see her worth".

"i talked to kayla and we decided we were gonna look in the mirror with her & remind her how beautiful she is" i told her.

after talking we headed home & ja was there. he's leaving for Memphis tomorrow so he can start back practicing with his team.

"hey ma" he said kissing me.

"hey you got everything packed ?" i asked

"yup".

"okay well your stomachs growling let's go get you food" i said grabbing his and and leading him to the kitchen.

"how's my baby girl ?"

"she's okay taking it day by day" i said and he nodded. he came around the counter and wrapped his arms around my waist.

"promise to take care of her while im gone ?"

"bae yk i got her" i said. he nodded and we shared a kiss.

i couldn't wait for her to get home so i can hold her. her emotions have been everywhere and it's normal for gigi but i want my daughter to grow up loving herself no matter what.
