"Hello?"

"You're still sleeping? I'm coming over to meet you, and you're not even excited for me."

Tanishq's voice echoed through Aashvi's mind, bringing a small smile to her face despite her struggle to wake up. She turned on the bed, lying on her stomach, and responded.

"Just come already. I have a surprise for you."

"Surprise? What is it?"

"Come soon, I'm waiting."

Tanishq smiled as he recalled why he was heading back to Mumbai. It had been three years since their relationship began, long-distance. He had completed his graduation, and Aashvi had finished her first year in college.

Chirag had recently announced Atharv's engagement to one of his business partners, Priyal, who happened to be Aashvi's senior and Atharv's classmate.

Though they knew each other, Atharv and Priyal had never seen each other as more than casual friends. Now, they were entering an arranged marriage. Given six months to date, they had both agreed to give it a try.

In just three days, Atharv and Priyal's engagement was set, and a month later, they would be married. For this momentous occasion, Tanishq was returning to Mumbai as Atharv's friend.

"Sure, I'll be there by evening."

Tanishq smiled to himself while talking to Aashvi, packing his bags. After ending the call, he sat on the bed, thinking about her. He was planning to propose at the wedding, but after three years of long-distance and conversations with her family, especially Atharv, it was hard to take that step. He knew Atharv disapproved of their relationship.
