.....
The morning began with the sound of Aarush's infectious laughter echoing through the room. His giggles were so loud and cheerful that they seemed to bring the entire household to life. However, in the master bedroom, both Aashvi and Vraj were still fast asleep.
But Aarush had other plans for his parents. He had somehow managed to wriggle halfway out of his crib, one tiny leg dangling over the edge while the other rested inside. His face lit up with mischief as he let out another high-pitched giggle, oblivious to the danger he was in.
Aashvi, stirred by his laughter, blinked her eyes open groggily. For a moment, she was disoriented, her gaze scanning the room until it landed on the crib attached to their bed. Her heart skipped a beat when she saw Aarush half in and half out of it.
"Oh my God!"
she gasped, bolting upright. She leaped out of bed and rushed to him, her heart pounding with fear. In a swift motion, she scooped Aarush into her arms, checking him from head to toe to ensure he was unharmed. Relief flooded her as she saw that he was perfectly fine, his chubby cheeks flushed from all his giggling.
"Baby, you really scared Mumma,"
she said, her voice a mix of scolding and affection. Aarush simply giggled in response, his tiny hands reaching up to pat her face as though trying to reassure her. His innocent eyes sparkled with mischief, and his gummy smile was so endearing that Aashvi couldn't help but chuckle. She kissed his forehead and held him close, her earlier panic melting away.
"You were just being naughty, weren't you?"
she asked, her tone soft and teasing. Aarush gurgled something incomprehensible, his babbling a melody that only Aashvi could understand. It was as though he was trying to explain himself, and she nodded along, pretending to grasp his baby talk.
"Oh, so you think it's funny, huh? You've become such a naughty boy, always causing trouble for everyone,"
she said with a mock sternness, though her smile betrayed her. Aarush responded with a silent pout, his tiny lips forming an exaggerated 'O' as he reached out to cup her face with his little hands. The gesture was so pure and heartfelt that it made Aashvi's chest tighten with emotion.
"It's really good that Dadi, Dadu, Choti Dadi, and Chote Dadu are here with us,"
she continued, her voice tinged with gratitude.
"They're all taking such good care of you. You're so lucky to have a family like this. I never thought I'd be able to give you this kind of upbringing."
As she spoke, her thoughts drifted. What if things had been different? What if she had never married Vraj? What if her father, Chirag, hadn't insisted on this marriage? Aashvi's eyes grew misty as she considered the possibilities.
Without the Ahuja family, Aarush might not have had the same love, traditions, and values surrounding him. Her heart ached at the thought, but she quickly pushed it aside, focusing instead on the present.Aarush, sensing his mother's change in mood, leaned forward and planted a slobbery kiss on her cheek.
