Aashvi sat on the couch, her hands resting protectively over her swollen belly. She felt the rhythmic flutter of her baby moving inside her, but even that small comfort wasn't enough to quell the storm raging in her mind. The last few months had been a slow, suffocating descent into darkness. Every moment with Tanishq replayed in her head like a haunting melody she couldn't turn off—his betrayal, the cruel words, the heartbreak. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't escape the cage of doubt and pain he had built around her.

She looked up at her father, Chirag, who was seated across from her, watching her intently. His face was etched with concern, a worry so deep that it seemed to weigh on his very soul. He had always been her protector, her anchor. Yet, in her heart, a gnawing fear had taken root, one that whispered to her in the quietest of moments, telling her that even her parents might hurt her one day, just like Tanishq had. The thought of it was unbearable.

Her gaze drifted down to her belly, where her child—her only source of hope—grew. But even that precious life inside her felt vulnerable. Sometimes, in the darkest corners of her mind, she feared that she might harm her own baby, not out of intention, but because of the insecurities that Tanishq had left festering inside her. The constant barrage of emotional manipulation had shattered her self-worth, and now, she felt like she couldn't trust anyone—not even herself.

After meeting Vraj and Ekansh at the business dinner, Aashvi had briefly felt that glimmer of hope. It was a realization, a reminder that not everyone in the world was like Tanishq. There were still good men out there—kind, respectful, gentle. But the trauma was undeniable. The scars Tanishq had left in her heart and mind wouldn't heal easily. No matter how much she tried to convince herself that she could move on, the weight of what she had gone through was too heavy to bear.
