.....

As the first rays of the sun filtered through the curtains, Aashvi stirred in her sleep, her face calm but dappled with the soft morning light. She turned slightly, only to feel a small scratch on her cheek. Groaning lightly, she opened her eyes to find her three-month-old son, Aarush, smiling mischievously, his tiny fingers waving in triumph.

"Aarush, tumhare nakhun kaatne padenge,"

she muttered groggily, rubbing her cheek as Aarush let out a gurgling laugh.

She glanced around and saw Vraj already awake, sitting against the headboard with Aarush perched comfortably on his lap. The baby's giggles filled the room as Vraj played peek-a-boo with him, his face lighting up with every peal of laughter from their son. It was a sight that warmed Aashvi's heart, though a small pout formed on her lips at being the last one to wake up.

"Subah-subah mujhe ignore kar rahe ho tum dono,"

she said dramatically, propping herself up on her elbow.

Vraj looked up with a teasing smile.

"Good morning, sleepyhead! Tumhare son ka time-table tumse alag hai. Aarush aur main toh pehle se active hai."

Aashvi scoffed, sitting up fully. Aarush clapped his tiny hands, his sparkling eyes darting between his parents.

"Aur main?"

she asked, holding her arms out for Aarush.

"Mumma ke paas aana hai, na?"

But Aarush turned his head and snuggled closer to Vraj's chest, much to her mock horror.

 "Arre! Betrayal!"

Aashvi exclaimed, placing a hand over her heart.

"Mujhse zyada papa pasand hai tumhe, Aarush?"

"Of course, kyunki main tumhare jaise late riser nahi hoon,"

Vraj quipped, raising an eyebrow.

"Tum don't start!"

Aashvi shot back, trying to stifle her laughter. She reached out to tickle Aarush, making him squeal with joy.

"Aarush, chalo Mumma ke paas. Ab Mumma tumhe bath degi."

But Aarush, as if understanding the conversation, reached for Vraj's collar, babbling insistently.

"Dekha? Decision le liya,"

Vraj said smugly.
