Aashvi adjusted the hem of her kurta as she stepped onto the grand staircase of the Ahuja mansion, cradling Aarush in her arms. The little boy, dressed in a soft blue romper, was oblivious to his mother's growing apprehension. His tiny hands fiddled with the delicate necklace adorning Aashvi's neck, the clinking sound of the pendant providing him with endless entertainment. Aashvi's heart warmed at the sight of her son's innocent joy, but a shadow of anxiety flickered across her face.

Suddenly, Aarush's ears caught the sound of Isha's bubbly laughter echoing from the living room. His round eyes lit up with excitement, and he began squirming in Aashvi's arms, his chubby little arms reaching out toward the direction of his beloved bua. Aashvi tried to calm him with gentle pats on his back, whispering softly,

"Aarush, beta, bua is busy right now. Stay with Mumma for a while."

But the determined little boy wasn't willing to relent.

Before Aarush could protest further, another familiar pair of arms scooped him up from behind. It was Ekansh, his mischievous chachu, who had a knack for turning Aarush's pout into laughter within seconds. Ekansh swung him around playfully, filling the room with the sound of Aarush's delighted giggles. Aashvi couldn't help but smile, though the worry didn't completely leave her eyes. She knew Aarush was in safe hands, yet the thought of leaving him, even for a few hours, tugged at her heartstrings.

As if sensing her turmoil, Tanupa approached Aashvi, her presence exuding warmth and reassurance. The older woman placed a gentle hand on Aashvi's shoulder, her voice soft yet firm.

"Don't worry about him, Aashvi. He'll be just fine here with us. It's only a few hours, hmm? We'll take care of everything. You focus on yourself and your studies."

Aashvi let out a deep breath she hadn't realized she was holding. Her mother-in-law's words were like a balm to her frayed nerves. She glanced at Aarush, who was now happily playing with Ekansh, his laughter filling the space with an infectious joy.

"Thank you, Mumma,"

Aashvi said, her voice tinged with gratitude.

"I was so worried about him."

Tanupa's lips curved into a comforting smile.

"That's natural, beta. But remember, he has all of us here. We'll keep him happy and safe. Now go, and give your studies your full attention."

With one last look at Aarush, Aashvi nodded, her heart a little lighter. Isha, standing by the door, waved her over. Together, they stepped out of the mansion, the cool morning breeze greeting them as they began their journey to college. For Isha, it was an exciting day—the start of a new chapter, full of opportunities and dreams. But for Aashvi, it was a whirlwind of emotions.

As the car moved through the bustling streets, Aashvi stared out of the window, her thoughts swirling like a storm. She was leaving her baby behind for the first time. Would Aarush miss her? Would he cry? Would he be okay without her soothing touch? The questions gnawed at her.
