Viktoria had moved into the Gryffindor dormitory full time. She and James would share a bed, separated by a wall of pillows.
Sirius knew her whole situation, of course, and so did James. Peter and Remus were confused, but they didn't really question it. She wasn't causing any problems for anyone, and it really wasn't their business. That's just how Peter and Remus stayed out of trouble a lot of the time. Mind their own business and keep their heads down.
Still, they thought it was weird. This random girl suddenly moved into their room and they had no warning or say in the matter. They assumed there was some wild explanation, but they assumed it was something they didn't want to know; maybe she had been expelled but had nowhere to go, or maybe she and James were secretly together.
She never seemed to leave though. She was always in the dormitory. Again, weird, but again, Remus and Peter weren't too disturbed. She was kind, she was friendly, and she was clean. She would spend the days while everyone was out and about just reading books and watching the first years struggle on their brooms.
One morning in November, Remus woke up with a jolt. He had just had an unpleasant dream, and he sat up straight in bed. Coincidentally, Viktoria had had trouble sleeping. She was standing by the open dormitory window while icy wind blew her long white hair behind her.
She must have heard Remus's jolt, because she turned around and looked at him in quiet surprise. He stared at her, and he realized that his sensibility wasn't going to override his curiosity about this girl.
"What's your deal?" he whispered, sounding more accusatory than he meant. "I mean, what are you doing here?"
Viktoria closed the window wirh a quiet thud. She sat on the sill in one of James's shirts and started talking.

An hour later, after questions and explanations and some more questions, Remus was staring at Viktoria absolutely shocked.
"What about Peter?"
"What about him?" Viktoria replied to Remus's sudden outburst.
"He has a right to know why you're here too," Remus said, still shell shocked.

"That explains so much, actually," Peter said, just as the sun began to peer over the tops of the trees in the Forbidden Forest. "You've always been just kind of weird, it makes sense that you're from a different time. So you stole a Time Turner from another student?"
"Yeah, from this girl Hermione Granger in Ron's year." Viktoria said.
James and Sirius had to be wired to the sun, because they both woke up upon the sunrise. "Who's Ron?" James asked while yawning.
Shit, shit, shit. "Oh, my best friends' little brother," Viktoria answered. And your kid's best friend, she thought.
"What are you guys talking about?" Sirius said while he began to brush his shoulder-length hair.
"Viktoria was telling us about her whole situation," Remus explained.
"Ugh, finally," James said, shoving his glasses onto his face. "I would have told you guys but I thought Vik should be the one to explain everything."
"What about Ollie?" Sirius asked.
There was a knock on the door, and Viktoria dived behind James's bed. Sirius got up and opened it.
Ollie walked in, still in her nightclothes and with disheveled hair.
"Morning guys," she said, beelining for the dresser and rummaging through it.
"Why are you going through our clothes?" James asked, distracted from the discussion she'd interrupted.
"I'm looking for those jeans your mom got you, James," she said, pulling out a bra. She held it in the air like it was a dirty rag. "What the hell?"
The boys stayed silent, but Viktoria rose from the floor. "That's mine," she said as if it was obvious.
Ollie turned around, her emerald green eyes the size of dinner plates. Viktoria's golden eyes simply stared back.
"Erm, okay then," Ollie said, tossing the bra across the room to Viktoria. "Who exactly are you?"
"I'm Viktoria. Viktoria Ali. Who are you exactly?"
Ollie ignored the question- she had too many of her own racing through her mind to answer any. "What are you doing here?"
"Oh, do you want the long version or the short version?"
"It can't be that long of a story."
Viktoria and James shared a quick glance. "Okay, um, so my parents, right? My dad was a wizard, and my mum was a Veela. She was the first Veela to attend Hogwarts and, as far as I know, the first Veela to practice witchcraft.
"When I was a baby, they left. I don't know if they died, or if they abandoned me, or what. But they aren't in my life. I go to Hogwarts, but I'm not supposed to be here, exactly."
"What does that mean?" Ollie asked, her arms crossed over her chest.
"I technically haven't been born yet," Viktoria blurted out. "I stole a Time Turner in the year 1994 and I turned it back to find my parents just to meet them, and James here looks so, so similar to my father, but he isn't my father, but he agreed to help me while I'm here. I've been trying to find any information I can while I'm here before moving on. That's why I'm here."
Ollie stared blankly at Viktoria. After a pause and a deafening silence, she finally spoke. "That's a joke, right? Which one of my friends are you shagging?"
"No, Ollie," Sirius piped up. "She's telling the truth. Show her the Time Turner."
Viktoria picked up the Time Turner and dangled it in the air.
"Holy shit," Ollie said, looking at Viktoria. "So who was going to tell me about you?" Ollie ran with a smile over to Viktoria and leaped into a hug. "I'm Olivia. Olivia Sato. I'm here because of much less interesting circumstances."
"I've heard of you a few times," Viktoria replied through Ollie's tight squeeze, with a beaming smile.

Hey guys so it has been a MINUTE. Ummmmmmm uploading every few months i guess? I haven't really been working on this that much but I FINALLY got back into it. I have been caught up in schoolwork, schoolwork, some schoolwork- guys high school ain't all fun and games... but I found a break in the monotony between learning physics and having my soul judged and graded for a statistic (art class and creative writing class) (speaking of which who wants a poetry book because i have some good shit). Anyways this time-travel centric detour is going to not be the focus much longer. Shoutout to Theboredsimp for her contributions to this story- she has been helping me out for a long time now and this piece would not be what it is without her. Viktoria is her character, and she has helped me develop Ollie and her crew and i cannot be more thankful for her collaboration. Go read her sister piece "Trickster's Heart" because she deserves it. Everyone who's here, thank you. All of you. See you soon!
