"Ollie!" Remus called from a row of chairs in the garden when the girl walked in. "Over here!"
Ollie's parents went over to where James's parents, Remus's mother, and Peter's mothers were sitting to join them.
Ollie, in her soft pink satin dress and only heels, dashed to her friends. She sat beside Remus and James, giving each boy a tight hug. Remus and Peter both wore their formal shirts from school with slacks, and James and Sirius showed up in suits. Sirius stood up and moved over to Ollie's chair, draping his arms around her.
Peter grinned at his friend. James smiled as Ollie reached over and straightened his glasses. Sirius put his hands on Ollie's shoulders and leaned over, kissing her on the cheek. "Hey," he said, giving her a grin before going back to his seat.
"Hey, guys," Ollie replied. "Where's Ted?"
Ted Tonks was the man Sirius's cousin was going to marry that morning. He walked out of the back door and looked out at the yard, smiling. He still looked a little nervous, though. Ollie could see why.
He was tall, a little taller than James. His skin was a light tone, and his limbs were long and thin like the rest of his frame. His head was covered in blond waves, styled so he looked quite sophisticated. His big blue eyes flicked over to the guests, and he flashed a toothy, slightly crooked smile. His sharp black suit contrasted not unpleasantly with his round, slightly boyish face.
"Let's see... Andy's cousin and his friends... Their parents... My parents, little Dora... John, his wife... Sierra, her husband, their sons... Ian, his daughter... Louise and her fiance and... That's all. Everyone's here," he remarked, looking around, counting off the guests.
Ollie turned her head to where Ted had looked while counting off "Sierra, her husband, their sons." She saw a woman, whose back was turned to her, with black hair pinned in an ornamental updo. Also facing away from Ollie was a man, who she assumed was her husband. He had curly brown hair and light brown skin.
Facing towards the aisle and Ollie were two boys. One looked to be about twelve, with the same brown hair as his father, but less curly, and pale skin, probably matching his mother's. The other, though, looked to be sixteen or seventeen, with curly black hair, striking blue eyes, and the pale skin of his mum. His eyes flicked over to Ollie. When he noticed her looking at him, he gave her a smile.
Ollie returned the smile and quickly looked away.
"What was that all about?" James asked, nudging his friend gently.
"What was what?" Ollie replied, resting her weight on the table.
"You're blushing," Remus pointed out, smirking. "And you were staring at that guy over there and looked away when he saw you."
"What are you talking about," Ollie said, pushing a hair out of her face and feeling the heat radiating from her cheeks.
"You know exactly what we're talking about," James countered. "What, do you think he's cute or so-"
"Shut up, James," Ollie said, crossing her arms and turning her head away from him.
"Hmm... I should go over there and tell him you think he's cute," Remus teased, resting his elbow on Ollie's shoulder.
"No!" Ollie exclaimed, covering her mouth as soon as she said it. "I mean, don't do that. Idiot."
James laughed, putting his arm around her waist and pulling her towards him. "It's fine, we won't. But you have to," he said, planting a friendly kiss on the top of her head.
Ollie jokingly pouted at her parents a few rows back, who smiled, not knowing what the conversation was about. They then turned back to the other parents, resuming their conversation about something probably boring, like having to pay Muggle taxes or something.
The ringing of bells alerted everyone in the garden to look towards the front, where Ted was standing, three men standing behind him, smiling. The man who had to be Sierra's husband with his brown curls and tan skin, a man who had close cropped blond waves and freckled skin, and a gangling man with tight ginger curls and pasty skin. Their bow ties matched the bridesmaids' outfits. Three women stood across from them in a lineup, wearing similar green dresses. One of the women was just showing a pregnancy, and her dress was long-sleeved and reached just past her knees. Another- the one called Sierra, probably- was tall and thin, her dress having thin straps. The third woman, with brown skin and loose curls, wore a strapless number. All were the same thick velvety green color, though.
Everyone stood and faced the back of the house. A red carpet stretched itself from the back door and through the blooming gardens. Mr Tonks, Ted's father, walked slowly down the aisle, arm in arm with his soon-to-be daughter in law. Andromeda looked absolutely breathtaking in her wedding attire.
The gown went off of the bride's shoulders, with a ruffled layer that acted as decorative sleeves and the collar. The bodice itself was form-fitting, and at the waist, the skirt was loose and flowed to the ground, a long train forming behind Andromeda. Her veil fell just to her collarbone in the front, and all the way down to her hips in the back. She wore a silver tiara that was studded with emeralds, and her white flats padded the ground softly as she moved.
Everyone rose to admire her beauty, and if anyone were to look back at the groom, they'd see that his eyes were welling up and he was smiling like a boy on his birthday. After all, this was the woman of his dreams, walking towards him in the most beautiful display he'd ever seen, about to seal their union for the rest of their lives.
And what a beautiful day for a wedding.
