"I should what?"

The break had ended. The castle was once more packed with kids, but that meant that Ava Parkinson was back, too.

Bundled in new, warm clothes, Remus and Ollie were walking around, sharing a big bag of chocolate, talking about a variety of topics. They were making their way to a nice spot, overgrown with vines, littered with flowers, and a large, gorgeous yew tree in the centre. They liked to sit in the sprawling branches, and just talk, and enjoy the peaceful sound of birds twitting, or owls hooting, or squirrels chattering.

The two had just made it to the opening that let them into the serene haven.

"Well, obviously, Remus," Ollie was saying, "she likes you. And I personally think you should g-"

A moment's pause.

"I should what?" Remus encouraged. Ollie made an odd, strangled sort of sound, her eyes filling with salty water. Remus followed her eyes, and met a horrible sight:

Sitting in their yew tree, Sirius and Ava were talking, and it certainly seemed very date-like. Then, the worst of it happened, right for Ollie and Remus to both see. Sirius leaned in, cupped Ava's face, and their faces were growing closer. Closer. Too close. Way too close. Were they touching? Oh. Oh

They were snogging. Remus stared at the scene, horrified, while Ollie tried to tear her eyes away from the train wreck.

A strange, choked noise came from Ollie's throat, and she turned around and dashed. Remus swore under his breath, chasing after her.

The tears were streaming down her face, and Ollie didn't care who saw, didn't care what they said, didn't care if Sirius found out. She only cared that she got away from... that. She ran up the memorized path to Gryffindor Tower, Remus right behind her. When she burst in, she darted up to the girl's dorms, and Remus stopped.

Boy's weren't allowed in the girls dormitories.

In their second year, Peter had found a very nice flower, and he went to go and give it to Ollie. He was about three steps up when it became a slide. A scream was heard from above, and, sprawled out on the slide, Marlene came shooting down, standing up (with a little help from James, as he sniggered) and mumbled something about "stupid ideas" and "idiotic rules" and "ridiculous tactics." That was how all of them found out about that rule.

Remus knew that Ollie wasn't going to come down the rest of the day, and that she needed to be alone. But he also knew that she needed someone to talk to, and if he couldn't serve that role, he'd get Lily (the practical, logical one) to comfort her, or, ideally, Marlene, her other best friend.

Luckily for him, both came in together, laughing about James's latest attempt to impress Lily. Lily saw him standing by the door frame, and she walked gracefully over to him, Marlene right behind.

"What's up, Remus?" Lily asked, nervously glancing at the stairway.

"Hey, Lupin, how goes it?" Marlene added, her laid-back confidence just a front she was putting up.

"Me and Ollie... saw some shit earlier. Can you guys at least try to get her to calm down? She seems really upset. I would do it myself, but, you know," Remus replied. "I am physically unable to."

"Oh, God... Will do, Remus." Lily answered.

"Well, shit. Be back sometime, hopefully soon and with Ollie," Marlene agreed, darting up the stairs.

Sitting on the bed, face buried in her pillow, Ollie was in the dorm, sobbing. Marlene, knowing she shouldn't have let herself change the subject before break, and knowing what probably happened. She sat next to Ollie, gingerly putting her arm around her shaking shoulders.

"What's wrong, Ollie?" she asked, holding her best friend, convincing her to lift her face out of the safety of the pillow and talk about it.

A muffled "I don't wanna talk about it" came from the fabric.

"What happened, Ollie?" Marlene pressed.

Ollie lifted her head. "Well, you see, what happened was-" And she told Marlene everything.

Marlene was pissed. Sirius, who had always been her friend, was two-timing Ollie, her best friend? With Ava Parkinson? His cousin through marriage? Not to mention the high regard she'd held Ava in until this moment.

Lily came in now, and saw how livid Marlene was. She took over the comforting, as Marlene stormed out, ready to get rid of Sirius Black and, despite how sad it made her, Ava Parkinson.

Those two were dead.

I think I've seen a bit too much Total Drama Island. This is literally the plot of S1 Gwen x Trent. Marlene is like Lashawna, and Ava is Heather. I'm sorry bae-
