Chapter 4. Misconceptions

Wonwoo POV

"hello Mr. Jeon" Mr Kang said to me
"SUP" I said back
"Uhh.... good afternoon" I said fixing the salute after he gave me a "don't you dare" look.
"That's better... I called you to tell you that you are excused for the rest of the day" he said as he smiled.
Weird he never smiles at me
I smiled an awkward smile back
And asked
"Did my parents call?"
"Yes they did. Oh and Congratulations" he said as he got up and gave me a hug.
As I stood there frozen on the spot. With my hands on my sides, eyes widened o_O
"Uhh thank you" I said after he let go.
"Your welcome, you should leave now, your parents are waiting out front" he said as he kept smiling
I wish he was yelling at me instead of smiling...
"Uh... okay thanks" I said and walked out
What has gotten into him?!?!
I stood outside of his office trying to process what just happened....
"Yo!" Mingyu yelled down the hall and waved a hand infront of my face.
"Huh? Yeah what's up?" I asked
"Whatd he want?" He asked
"I got to go home early today... that's all" I lied
"Yo you're pale" he said
"Am I?" I asked emotionless
"Yeah... oh guess what?" He asked
I snapped out of my trance
"What?" I asked
"Steph and I are going on a study date" he said proudly
"Isn't that what you guY's were on when... uh... she kicked your little buddy??!?" I said as I started to laugh
"Oh shut up... hey didn't you say your parents were waiting?" He asked
"No.... oh shit!" I said and ran as Mingyu chuckled.
When I ran out of the school doors I saw my mom's car parked on the front curb.
I ran towards the car and opened the door to the passenger side
"Hey mom! Wanted to see me so badly that you couldn't wait 3 more hours?" I asked making a cute pout.
"That and I have news" she said as she backed out and away from her parking spot infront of the school.
"What's the news?" I asked as I grabbed a water bottle from the cooler underneath my seat.
I drank some water as I waited for my mother to speak.
"So Wonwoo.... your father and I wants to have a successor to take over our company... and so I need you to have a wife..." she said
I swallowed my water and I responded to her
"Ill marry Brie later on don't worry" I told her as I decided to drain my water bottle.
"We picked a different girl" she said calmly.
That's when I spat my water out... all over my mother...
"Jeon won woo!!! Clean up this mess this instant!!" She yelled
"I'm sorry! I'm Soo sorry!" I said rapidly as I grabbed some napkins and wiped up the water
"Its fine... I get it... you're shocked.." she said calming down a little.
"Thank you... why can't it be Brie?" I asked I could marry my girlfriend and be done with it.
"This marrige... is a buisness marrige.... it needs to benefit the buisnesses on both sides." She explained
And then I got it.
They wanted me to marry some rich brat and not Brie because she wouldn't inherit a buisness.
"Is it because Brie's mom and dad are lawyers?" I asked shocked
"No no of course not! Its just because its a buisness marrige... please understand" she asked looking at me from the corner of her eye
"Do you have a picture?" I asked
Might as well see how this brat looks like.
"Of course! She's beautiful! And she's such a sweet heart as well" she rambled on
As I looked through her purse and found a photograph
she WAS beautiful...
She was stunning...
But I can't marry her.
I need to marry Brie.
I drew in my breath to reason with my mom but was stopped
"this is not an option it has already been discussed and decided. You will NOT change my mind" she said as I sighed in defeat.
"Is That all? When's the wedding?" I asked as I saw my mom wince after she heard the first part.
"Uhh... this weekend" she muttered
"What?!?! This weekend?!?!" I yelled
"Do not yell young man! Yes this weekend" she said as she tried to concentrate on the road.
"Okay.. so if that's all why call me oit from the rest of the school day?" I asked that part was a little unsettling.
"Well... you need to pack"she said as she parked in our driveway
"Pack? Are we going somewhere?" I asked I imagine with my fiance
"No... you're living with her from Now on. You'll move tomorrow"
She said as she rummaged through her purse trying to find her keys.
"They're in the front pocket and why?" I asked again
"Because we wanted to give you guys some time to get used to it." She said as she found her keys and grabbed an envelope and smiled as she handed me the envelope.
"What's this?" I asked starting to open it
"Its information on your fiance, let's go" she said as she exited the car.
I got out of the car deciding not to read the info until I was alone, as I went into the house, slipped my shoes off and ran up to my room. I locked the door behind me and opened the envelope.

I thought there'd be more but nope 4 sentences. Considering the rest of the form wasn't filled out I guessed her parents didn't know her too well....
Oh well.
I grabbed my phone and dialed Dectective Jang's number.
If I wasn't given information ill have to get it myself
"Hello?" Mr. Jang said through the phone call
"Hi its Wonwoo I need you to tail someone for me" I said waiting for his response.
I told him all of the info I Got and the adress of her house which was written on the bottom of the page.
I asked him to go wherever she went for a day to see what her hobbies were.
I spent the rest of the day wondering how id tell Brie. She called and texted but I didn't have the courage to respond. I felt bad, sad, mad, like Dr. Seuss but whatever, all at once.
I decided id tell her about it tomorrow.
I went to bed worrying about Brie that I completely forgot about Mr. Jang.
So when he called...
6 fucking times at 2 AM in the morning I said this.
" what the fuck? I'm going to call the police!!!" I yelled into the phone
"Its Dr. Jang! Its an emergency!" He yelled into the phone and it sounded if he was freaking out.
"What happened?" I asked worriedly as I figured out who he was
"The girl... she... jumped out her window and ran away, so I tried to go after her but I got stopped by the cross light and i followed her from way behind. It seems as if she was crying and she ran towards the bridge and then she leaned over three times and I tried to stop her but I couldn't see after that because my shoe fell off while I was running. Then I heard screaming and I couldn't see her because a car had parked in front of her and then when i went around it...it drove away... I'm not a 100% sure but.." he puffed he was tslking quite fast so It made sense that he was out of breath but I was impatient.
"What??!?! But what ?!?!"
"As I said before I'm Not for sure but it seems like she comitted suicide or she was kidnapped."
He said rapidly
