Chapter Twenty.

     

      LATER ON THAT night, out of boredom, the teens all played flip cup with the juice. "Bring it, bitch." Missy says to Spider, the cups set up and the blond laughs. "Three, two, one." Dusty counts down before ringing the bell. "Chug! Chug! Chug!" The girls cheer them on. "Come on, Spider. Come on, man."

The two finish the juice in the cups, then try to flip over the cups, which Missy did successfully. "Haha! Suck it!" She laughs, then turned to Romeo who just smirked at her. "Good job, Miss." He says and she gestured. "Wanna try?" She asked. "Nah." Romeo answers, shaking hisbhead as Amerie walks out. "Hey, hey, hey, guys. Remember why we're here." She says and Romeo looked at Anthony.

"Ant, that's disgusting." He says with a grimace. "Yeah, this shit better by over by the morning. 'Cause he's a pretty regular dude." Spider gestured to Ant who nods, humming. "I'm gonna go look for Stevie and Enya." Romeo says quietly to Missy who just nods. "Okay, I'll come with." She follows after him.

In the hallway, the two walk side by side, looking into the empty offices. "How much juice have you drank?" He asked, looking at her and she shrugs. "Not a lot," she says and he just chuckles. She reached out, taking his hand in hers, "why don't we find an empty supply room or something? Just sit and talk... or not talk." She suggested and he just looks at her, smiling faintly. "You'd like that, wouldn't you?" He says and she just shrugged.

"I just want to spend time with you..." She says and he smiles, then approached one of the rooms. He opens the door to see Enya and Stevie are in there, kissing while the Castillo girl was sitting on the desk. "Oh." Romeo said, making the two part immediately. "Sorry." He giggled and Missy grins widely. "Woah," she says, laughing quietly. "Romeo--" "no, no, seriously don't let me interrupt." The boy tells his sister, just grinning at her.

It's pretty late when it happens, everyone had gone to sleep already, but Missy and Romeo were there in Miss Woods' office, the girl saying she had to pee and wanted him to stand watch. "Okay, done." She says, walking over to him and he turns around. "Do you need to go?" She gestured and he shook his head. "I haven't drank water all day and I refuse to drink that juice." He says and she giggles quietly. "Hey, can I kiss you?" She asks.

"Oh... yeah. Sure." He says and she leans up, pressing their lips together. Her hands go to his waist as their kiss deepens and his go to her face, stepping closer. At this point, Spider walked in, wanting to use the "toilet" but stopped and just watched the two, before walking out, pursing his lips together. "Wait, Miss, wait..." Romeo whispers, pulling away. "Yeah?" She says, staring up at him.

That look in his eyes makes guilt course through him as he frowns, looking down. "What is it, Ro?" She says quietly and he steps back. "Can we just go and talk somewhere else?" He whispered and she nods. That's when the two go into the office supply closet, the girl sitting on a chair as he sat on one next to her. "Um... there's a reason why I acted the way I did. And... I think it's because I like someone else." He says and she just furrows her brows.

"Oh." She says and he sighs. "I'm sorry." He says and she just looks away. "Who is it?" She asks, fidgeting with her hands. "I--I can't say. You'll just judge the hell out of me." He laughs, rubbing his eyes and she snorts. "Spider?" She asked and he looks at her right away. "How did you--" "I mean, I kind of figured the map was right about you two." She says and he just looks down. "Yeah... it's Spider."

"You actually like him? Spider?" She asked and he sighs. "I mean, trust me, I didn't want to. He's such an asshole, and I hated him. But... this whole time, we kind of had this thing going on, and I don't know... I guess I've been making excuses this whole time, but I know now that I have feelings for him." He says, then sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I'm sorry... I wanted to get over him, by getting with you, and that's not fair to you, at all." He says and she just waves her hand at him.

"Nah, it's okay. I get it... get over someone, get under someone else." She says and he just chuckles. "I would've been under you?" He asked and she nods. "Yeah, totally." She says and he laughs, shaking his head as he looks away. "I don't think I'll tell him. I mean, I could... I just shouldn't. God, it'd be ridiculous to everyone too." He says, looking down.

"And plus, he just... never took part of it too. He was probably just using me." He says, shrugging softly and she just sighs, shaking her head. "Why do we, bisexuals, let men do shit like this to us?" She says it, obviously jokingly, since the "man" she meant was him, so he just laughs, looking away. "So... are we cool? Friends?" He asked her worriedly.

"Yeah, of course, Ro."

The next morning, Romeo woke up to see that everyone else was up, standing up and rubbing his eyes as Amerie came rushing in, "say it, Dusty! I need to hear you say it!" She shouted. "Say what?" Dusty asked her. "That you fucked me over just to get out of doing a class, that you made up the rumor about me and Jojo." She said and Romeo looks at Spider who just steps away slowly from the two.

He can't say he's surprised, that's just who Spider is. "Actually, that the whole thing was your idea." She says and Dusty refuses to look at her in the eyes. "I just..." He says quietly. "Say it!" She screams in his face, making Romeo flinch and back away. Dusty just looks behind her, at Spider who was still backing away carefully. The Reid boy just got up off the desk and walked past Amerie.

"It's Jojo! It's Jojo! It's Jojo! Jojo is back!" Quinni says and she quickly opens the window with Darren. "Miss, please come back. We want you back. We don't want to be anyone else's SLTs. We want to be your SLTs." Quinni tells the woman who just smiles.

"Uh, I think we're about to get dragged out of here, people." Cash says when the firefighters show up. When they break through the doors, the supplies blocking the doors falling over onto the stairs, and then the students went over and rushed out the administration doors, past the men who clear their path.

Romeo finds his mother quickly in the crowd, hugging her right away as Enya came rushing over and embraced their aunt. "You two are so dead." Selena Castillo says in their embraces. "I'm so proud." Vivienne shook her head and Enya pulls back from the hug.

"We were just standing up for what we believed in, Jojo is the best teacher we have." Romeo explains as he also steps back from his mom and Selena sighs, shaking her head as she looks over at her sister who just shrugs. "You and I both know you would have done the same at their age. They love Miss Obah." She says and Romeo just nodded.

"I'm just glad you're both okay..."

Romeo looks through the crowd and spots Spider standing with a woman, who has brown hair with blonde highlights, talking with her. Then the blond looked his way, staring at him as he just looks away, frowning. "Can we go home now?" He asked his mom.

"Yeah, of course. Let's go..."
