Chapter Sixteen.

THE NEXT DAY at the Semifinals, Romeo looks up at the others as their coach spoke up, "alright boys. It's almost time. Let's smash it out there." He says and all the players shout in agreement. "Okay, you know the plays. You've done the work." Spider got up, looking at Malakai and Romeo sitting side by side on the bench. "Let's show these bastards what you're made of. Come on!" The coach says and the players all shout. "Let's go." Romeo pats Malakai gently on the arm, the two of them getting up and following after the others.

"Welcome to the Interschool Basketball Semifinals!" Principal Woods announced into the mic as everyone in the crowd cheered and clapped. "Give it up for the Hartley High Ibis!" She then says and the school mascot comes running out. "That's a fucking bin chicken!" Sasha shouted, pointing.

The mascot runs around, hitting the metal bin in its hands. "That's the dumbest mascot ever." Enya says quietly. "I love the bin chicken." Stevie laughed as the mascot now walks up to Principal Woods. "Okay. Thank you. Just, uh, before we kick off, uh, it's time to announce the winner of a little cleanip competition that we had here at Hartley High. Not that it needed any cleaning up or anything like that." The woman says, adjusting her glasses.

"It's just a little friendly--" "cut to the chase!" Quinni shouted, making Stevie chuckle quietly, looking back over at their principal. "Okay. Thank you, Quinni. Um... so the winner of the PlayStation gift voucher is Jenny Pilcher." She said as everyone began clapping for the girl and Stevie just groans quietly.

"Whatever. Not like she'll have good use out of it." She says, crossing her arms and Enya just softly pats her back. "And thank you, everybody, for doing their bit. Okay, let's hear it for the teams!" She says and then the two basketball teams came running out.

After the team warms up, the game began and it goes okay at first, with the Hartley High team getting s score, but then someone stole the ball from Malakai and the opposing team got a score. Later in the locker room, their coach gives them a prep talk, "stop messing around and get into the plays! And Malakai, what are you doing?" The man asked him.

Romeo looks over at the Mitchell, seeing that look on his face. "Malakai! Where are you today, mate? Let's pull it together." The coach says. "Sorry." Malakai looks down. "Yeah, well, not good enough. You had a direct shot and you bloody missed." The man says. "Yeah, I said I'm sorry." Malakai says loudly.

"You okay, dude?" Romeo reached over, touching Malakai's shoulder gently and Spencer glanced between them. He looks over at the other player to his right, "he's got much more to worry about." He says, so Malakai looks away from Romeo. "What'd you say?" He asked and Spider just looks up at him.

Malakai got up, "woah." The other boys exclaimed. "Malakai." Romeo says. "Okay, okay." Their coach says as Malakai shoves Spencer. "Go fuck yourself!" He said and Romeo quickly got up. "Hey, hey, hey! That's enough! Guys, come on. Stop! What's gotten into you, mates?" Their coach shouted as both Romeo and Ant pull Malakai away from Spider. "Fuck you! Fuck all of you." The Mitchell now says, after pushing both Ant and Romeo away. "I'm done." He then walks out.

"You just had to say something." Romeo says, sounding annoyed at Spider. "Sorry, I pissed off your little friend." The blond says sassily. "He's been through a lot, why couldn't you just leave him alone?" Romeo scoffed and walked out, everyone else following so that they can return back to the gymnasium.

"Hey, Dusty." Harper says into the mic, catching everyone's attention, including the boy who Spider had been talking to. "I just wanted to, um, take a minute to apologize for... what did you call it? Wanting it too much? Yeah. I'm really sorry that I enjoyed myself in a consensual threesome that you initiated. And I'm sorry he made me cum so hard I saw another dimension." Laughter then erupts from the crowd of students.
